Essential Android Apps

Tried getting this on my Android but can't seem to find it. ah may be because my Hero has QVGA

Yea, I put the .apk on someone's Wildfire and it doesn't work. Full game should to though

find ebay , tv guides , facebook , train times etc are all actually better to do in the browser

True, I use the browser for some stuff. Sometimes the official app is great though. For example, I do use the official Twitter app because it just works and does everything I need it to. But then the official Facebook app is crap!

BBC Newsreader, newspaper and Movies are apps I use all the time. I find the apps much easier.

yea guess it depends which ones you use. they are the main things for me though

as for shazam well i use 'trackid' which admittedly is still an app even though its built in.

Hero is HVGA - if you find the APK for it on t'internet you can install the Angry Birds beta, I'm sure there's a link to it earlier in the thread.

The nerve shredding Fruit Ninja arrived today!

It's better than any of the clones that have already materialised, though no apps2sd support means it takes up 15MB I can't really spare on my Desire.

Good point, well made.

Couldn't be arsed when I first got it but 3 months on and it may be time. I assume rooting will allow me to lash everything onto the sdcard, not just the stuff that has the option?

With an SD-EXT you can bung everything on SD

- Taskiller Free ...do I actually need this? (read reports that it can actually be bad for your phone)
- Google sky map
- Opera Mini Browser
- Radiant Lite
- ASTRO file manager
- SMS popup
- Chomp SMS
- Google Maps
- FB for Android

Do you guys have any apps that are more preferrable alternatives to the above? Any other essentials I should look out for
