Essential iPhone Apps

Co-Pilot Update I saw today guys, sorry if already posted! :)

Tried Sleep Cycle without being charged (USB cable is a couple of inches too short) and it lasted 4 hours from full charge :(

There is something weird with that app. It takes a night or 2 to get use to your sleep patterns, after that it will level out with battery usage and then it will only take 20-30% a night. I'm not sure what it's doing during the 'learning' periods. But charger is only needed for first 5 nights at most.

Whats worth it more than guys? :)

In need of a sat nav app. CoPilot looks good but is the TomTom thing worse?

I've been using the TomTom one since the summer, works a charm for me. The last big update added the reading out of road names too, which is handy. It's pricey for what it is, considering you can get a dedicated sat nav for the same price these days. But it's certainly handy having it available at all times on the phone. It's an absolute battery hog though, make sure you have a charger if you plan to have it navigate for longer than 30 min - hour.

Hmm, that could be tricky...in the Mini. :o :(

You could grab one of the cigarette adapters that you can plug USB cables in. They're available pretty cheap, just a few quid and you can use your existing charger cable or buy another.

MobileCrunch reports that TomTom has issued a press release announcing the submission of Version 1.3 of its iPhone application to Apple for inclusion in the App Store. The updated version will bring real-time traffic updates and local search functionality offered by Google, as well as other yet-to-be-announced enhancements.

TomTom update.

I use the TomTom App on my iPod Touch paired with the TomTom car kit and it works perfectly. It includes a Line-out for music playback (which auto reduces during direction announcements) and also charges the iPod as well :)

Phone has been getting quite warm so I've not managed a full cycle yet :/

The dock is nice and it is a tempting buy. Does it perform well compared to the stand alone sat navs which in total can be brought for roughly the same price as the App+Cradle? :)
