Essential iPhone Apps

what do people consider their essential apps on an iphone? I had a pretty good idea of the necessaries on android but at the moment I've been too taken up with all the shiny new games to put any thought into getting a decent range of apps.

For me personally:

Twitter - If you're into these sort of things
TuneIn Radio - Listen to most radio stations from around the world over 3G
BeejiveIM with Push - Combined instant messaging app with notification
Pulse News Mini - Visual news reader for all sites you often visit, easy to navigate and cleanly presented
London Tube Deluxe - Best tube/DLR status and route planner with estimate journey time
Camera+ - Stock camera app replacement with filter and border effects
RedLaser - Barcode scanner, database not 100% reliable with UK product but great for price comparison
Amazon Mobile UK - Great official app with one button purchase and search, combine with RedLaser for best results
BBC News - Get your TV Licences' worth
AirVideo - stream videos from your PC to your phone over 3G, can even live-convert none iPhone supported video encodings
SoundHound - Music identifier, you can even hum the tune
Torch for iPhone 4 - Cleanest and fastest LED flash light app
Delivery Status touch - Parcel tracking done perfectly, with all tracked items easily identifiable with ETA at a glance
Wikipanion - Because everyone should have instant access to Wikipedia

These are my must-have none-game none-gimmick used-more-then-once apps. As I limit my apps to only 1 page on my phone, these are the thoroughly distillated survivors. If there are more you guys can't live without, please post them here. Always happy to discover great new apps! :D


Thought I'd mention 3 game apps that are perfect for quick time passer on the tube:

Helsing's Fire - Innovative dynamically generated puzzle game. No Challenge on normal? try the new ABSURD difficulty!
Pinball HD - Just amazing... if you ever got into Window's 3D Pinball, you'll LOVE this!
Stick Golf - Quick fun 2D golf game!

They won't make you look silly on the tube twisting and turning your phone in front of tens of strangers, and aren't too involved with long levels/courses/tracks that you miss your stop or have to pause and carry on later!
 
To add to that list :

Around Me : Locate cash points, parking, restaurants, supermarkets and loads more near your current location.
Facebook : A must have App if you're a member
National Rail Enquires : An essential app if you travel by train a lot

LastFM - Awesome app. I hardly listen to anything else now. :)

Battery Doctor - Gives usage details and also conditions your battery.

Endomondo - Excellent GPS Sports Tracker/Mapping app. I use it for cycling.

eBay App - Really handy if you buy/sell regulalrly on the bay.

MyWi - Turns your iPhone into it's little own wireless hotspot.

Also, is your phone Jailbroken?. If so then SBSetiings although not an app as such, is a "must have". ;)
 
Brilliant thanks all. I haven't gone down the jailbreaking route just yet, thought I'd give it a week of finding out how it's meant to be before i even start thinking about it!
 
hi there, im looking for an app or apps that will give me 5 coloumns and unlock my dock to give me more, does apps store do anythink like this.

The new FB app is lightening compared to the previous version.

The location thing isn't working, I'm not sure if that's a UK thing or not, I've heard reports from the US of it not working too.
