I'll happily vote yes - after they've been audited.
So, since they're audited every year and have been for some time, I assume you'll be voting yes then?
Not been given a clean bill of health though eh? Any CFO of a UK plc that didn't get a clean bill of health from the auditors would have to resign.
I want no fracking in this country.
One thing I've never understood...
I hear people complain complain complain about all of our governments, leaders and politicians about how corrupt they are, how they don't listen, how evil they are etc.
Then five mins later complain about the EU and wanting our sovereignty back. Do you really think that if UK politicians did get our sovereignty back (tbh I don't think its lost but ill amuse you) they would have a change of heart and start doing things better and more nicely.
Personally I'm happy that the EU keeps our politicians in check. I trust the EU more than our politicians. If getting our sovereignty back means less human rights, less regulations on banks (amongst many other things) ill take the EU
So you'd rather have unelected people in charge as opposed to people we can change every 4 years if they're bad? You do know that if the EU was corrupt, didn't listen and was evil (- they are but I'll amuse you and pretend they aren't) we wouldn't be able to change them at all? That's sort of a benefit of Democracy and why we moved on from having a King or Queen in charge
Are you referring to the European Parliament (elected) or the Council of Ministers (heads of state). You may also mean the European Commission (appointed by the people we trust to run our country)?
Obviously we have much less influence in the European Union, but we COULD (with good negotiations) have the best of both worlds. Leaving the EU - at least in my view - is not the best ship to be in.
I fail to understand why a top 10 global economy needs to be tied to the EU, I don't even know why the EU exists, more government is never a good thing
more government is never a good thing
That's never a not stupid thing to say. That's how it is with keyboard 'libertarians', you hate the govt. but you love the roads you drive on, the police that keeps you safe etc. all of which are only possible because goverments exist. If it's possible to succesfully govern a nation then it is also possible to govern multiple nations. This is the direction of the Western civilisation, whether you people like it or not.
... and the EU isn't more government, it's more centralised government, which is never a good thing.
I fail to understand why a top 10 global economy needs to be tied to the EU, I don't even know why the EU exists, more government is never a good thing
That entirely depends on what is being centralised. Centralising trade arrangements - which is the absolute vast majority of what the EU does - is entirely sensible.
What are the trade restrictions for EU members because I almost guarantee there will be lots of them preventing trade with people outside of Europe. We are only one of the top liners because we run services for other nations and corporate bodies,, most of the trade is with the EU as we have failed to capitalize fully in China and India, we don't particularly have other choices.
