Our failure to deal with these refugees is utterly shameful particular on the part of the UK. That aside, the issue of refugees is almost completely separate from economic migration and has deeply different consequences.

Agreed but the problem is that the vast majority of the med boat people are not refugees - they are economic migrants who do not claim asylum and primarily want to get to Britain to work in the black economy.

You think people who are willing to get onto boats in extremely cramped conditions, at great cost, on which they know there's a good chance they'll die after making long treks on which they know they face high chances of being mugged or worse are just coming here because they fancy a spot of work?

Yes - they've been told that the streets of London are paved with gold and it gives them hope. If they were fleeing persecution why don't they seek Asylum in the first safe country they arrive in?

You don't think it might be a teeny bit more complicated than that?

FYI, Italy has been complaining that countries like Britain haven't been pulling their weight when it comes to these refugees. Most of the refugees do claim asylum in the first country that they get to.

Did you catch that documentary on CH4 I think it was.

They claim asylum in the first country they get in, with the intention of making their way to the UK.

Literally, by the hundreds, all of them said their end goal was to get into the UK.

I think Cameron will follow Thatcher's legacy and say 'Yes to Europe' all over again. I'm convinced he's desperate for the UK to remain in the EU.

camerons got no backbone he wouldn't see us leave europe, he's not strong enough to take us out and lead, just serving his masters (big business)

Good news - Lancashire County Council has decided to not let fracking go ahead in West Lancs. Remember that if we stay in the EU then it's conceivable that in future we might have a common energy policy where Brussels decides who can frack where, and where the revenues are spent.

Localism > Centralisation (EU).

It's also conceivable that the local council decides to let it go ahead after all.

What your doing is scaremongering over pure speculation. I thought we were above these Daily Mail tactics?

There's no alternative to speculation since we won't be told what staying in the EU means - all we know is ever-closer integration of an EU federal superstate, which means things like a common energy policy, common defence policy etc. People might say that my scenario won't come true, but they said the same thing about the common fisheries policy, where Brussels has taken control over our waters, decides who can fish there, how much and where it should be landed (i.e. who makes the cash).

Exactly, these two were trying the same ruse, look at their reaction when the Dutch truck driver tells them they're in England, you can literally see the £ signs revolving in their eyes. (The twist is, they were still in France.. ahaha! :D )

Of course he is!

Most senior politicians, including Cameron, will be fully paid up members of the "Brotherhood of the Bell".

You cannot be PM for ever, but you can have a nice 250K fully tenured retirement job in the EUSSR bureaucracy (Plus all the additional benefits!) that will keep you and your family in clover almost indefinitely!

Sounds like higher bills to everyone to offset the cost of implementation.

"Great"
Exactly what I thought.

Net neutrality sounds like it has some grey areas as well

The commission said they would also be able to throttle traffic if it was in the public interest to do so.

For example, to combat the proliferation of images of child sexual abuse or a terrorist attack.
I say what?
If there's ever an uprising against the government they will net neutrality us all to prevent the spread of information

the principle that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites
