Euro Truck Simulator 2 worthy of purchase

Tried the demo, and bought the digital key (£22) as a show of support since they are a small company, not on steam yet (has to pass greenlight). Been playing daily in the evenings - strangely addictive yet calming.

Thanks for posting those stream links (had figured out how to extract them, but put the wrong ones in lol).

And mods for fixing the truck names/logos for Daf, Volvo and Mercedes?

£65000 so far, no loans or owned trucks yet...

Yea theres mods for those, the Volvo one just adds the Volvo logo, doesnt fix the stripes, so they are in a V still - Still havent worked out how to install them though Edit/ removed link as the download links dont seem to work and the filenames are odd.

The nav definitely does re-route, it just takes a while to make it the fastest route. I took an early turning on the way to london on my last job before i hit the demo wall and after driving for a while it did reroute nicely.

How do you change the controls file? I thought it would be a simple change of the last 3 letters swap them around and put them back???

change the .sii to .txt then copy and paste your bit and then change it back....? mine has stayed a text document.

Another thing I find annoying is in the UK they seem to impose a 50mph limit for no other reason than there being a camera.

Use Notepad++ once and you'll never go back to the default notepad again.

Just right click the file, choose "Open with Notepad++"... job's a goodun, no need for renaming files.

I must say I had a wicked time with demo last night, Started in Liverpool and ended up in the north east corner of Germany before the game crashed.
I had managed to get myself jammed at a busy intersection and fell through a hole in the map geometry, was really enjoying it too.

I changed it and now it only has keyboard controls and has forgotten all that I had set up....... How am I this retarded?

Why were you changing .sii to .txt anyway? Just right click the .sii and open with wordpad. when done just press save, no messing with file extensions.

BECAUSE I'M A RETARD! I think I have sorted it now with Notepad++ Just adding all the radio links at the minute.

LOL well you don't need notepad++ just use wordpad as it is already installed and never messes with the layouts.

Downloaded this last night, good fun definitely.

Needs a wheel though IMHO. Tried the mouse and the keyboard setups and it is not very fluent, swerving all over the place to to go straight.

Right, after much searching ive found a Logo Mod that replaces the Ivedo, Majestic, Valiant, and the DAV logos, on the trucks aswell as the ingame menu descriptions.

Too easy to install, download the file, open that file, copy the whole .SCS file to \Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod and wham bam thank you mam

You don't even need to do that, just open straight into notepad and paste in the settings on page 5/6

I had to go in to settings and change it to joypad though.

I would not use notepad for any config files, it can save and mess the layouts out. You won't ever get that with wordpad. I guess that is why they have notepad++ to fix these issues.
