can anyone tell me how to patch the game to 1.4? can't find anything on the net except idiots telling people just to buy it off steam

Add your key to steam, it worked for me, best of both worlds, although i found with the steam version some mods didnt work at all, http://www.eurotrucksimulator2.com/update.php If you have the normal install version and running 1.3.1 select the second link Patch from 1.3.0 or 1.3.1 version to 1.4.1 (167 MB) if an earlier patch the first one is for you.

I have the patch downloaded but what and where do i put it in the euro truck folder?

I don't want it on steam I like it as a stand alone game

You run the exe file, installs through that.

Get the 1.4 update first as a few mods and tweaks are there already.

You need to opt in to the beta on Steam. SCS are still squashing a few remaining bugs before 1.4.x gets finalised and goes out to everyone on Steam.

At the moment I have a custom skin mod installed. Realistic Physics, Real Logos and a rain noise mod.

Some of the old mods work ok on the new update, new mods/or tested mods should appear in a few days, due to the beta patches and what not mod makers didnt do much for 1.4.1
