Euro Truck Simulator 2 worthy of purchase

I find myself strangely drawn into this game. I am not sure if the game is actually good or if I should check in with my local doctor... It looks very addictive.

Right one thing that bugs me to hell and back is the HDR, way too bright and in my eyes over saturated, without it on the game is quite dull, so any mods for the HDR?

Yup that would be fine

i did have a mod that worked on 1.3.1 that made it less in your face, but it was part of package and i cant remember what it was now

Had to remove this mod though as it changed all of the Scania truck grilles to neon blue xD And then when I removed the mod it still wouldn't go away but a re-verify seemed to fix it.

Hmm...ETS2v.1.4.8 has become very stuttery, even on base vanilla. Graphics settings on high (only using ~780Mb RAM of 2GB) - go a 100 metres and becomes slide show, city or rural is irrelevent. Tone down graphics settings to low - it works, but is horrible. Card's an HD6950.

Then had a look at cpu (I5-2500K), and noticed it only used 2 of 4 core's - 2 @ 95% peak usage, the other 2 @ 15% peak - is this normal for ETS2?

Yep. Did the same on my Q9550, the E6750 I'm back on now fully utilises both cores. Slight performance drop, nothing major.

decided to install the tsm map and ive noticed that using that mod has made the quick job pay out very low, Logs Felixstowe to Marseille 1,150km 8,000 Euro's Thats a huge distance for peanuts :confused:

anyone else notice the low wages?

The levelling up is also more difficult, it is for longevity I guess.

Well I downloaded this game to try it out and I guess it is not for me the graphics are average but not outstanding to keep the visual appeal. The gameplay is ok if your happy enough to grind hours of driving in a crappy truck that's barely able to get above 55 mph at the early stages. I'm not sure it has enough appeal to keep me truckin on!

Updated to from ETS2v1.3.1 & TSM 2.2 to ETS2v1.4.8 & TSM 3.5, and corresponding JustPlay mod - whilst gameplay is a lot smoother now especially in 'new' cities, JustPlay has a lot less content in it wrt to trailers - no tanks, tractors etc.

Oh, and the current JustPlay mod doesn't require TSM anymore.

Tempted to go back to ETS2v1.3.1 & TSM 2.2...or can I copy files from old JustPlay mod, into new via 7zip...?

im level 3, should i take out a loan for my own truck or is it better to go further doing quick jobs?
