Euro Truck Simulator 2 worthy of purchase

Any mods to make driving more challenging/interesting? I thought it would be easier to jackknife if you brake hard at high speed but that doesn't seem to happen in game..

Nights darker? Slippery when wet? :p
 
I got Reworked AI traffic on the SCS forum and my roads feel alive with more traffic. However now the country roads have way too many cars..

I wonder if theres a way to have different settings for both?

There is something nice about driving around late at night (in real life as well) with the radio playing some good music.

My gaming buddies don't really get it, but they haven't tried...
 
I restarted this a few days ago and installed a few little mods, with the main difference coming from the heavy traffic mod, which has made the game much better in my opinion.

I do have to keep it all on medium to stop any stuttering though. This doesn't occur when in an outside view, only from within the truck. :confused:
 
I bought this ages ago, but just didn't get it. Decided to try it out as a test for the Steam streaming thing to my front room TV/HTPC.

It's fair to say I'm totally hooked now, very relaxing game indeed!
 
Crashing at 96MPH into a very sturdy lamp post in someone else's truck caused only 13% damage(not my fault as Adamski was playing) then playing in my own truck I got 76% damage going into a toll booth arm at 71MPH both were pretty full on, one was an accident the other was more of an experiment.
 
What updates have I missed as the fog now is crazy no matter what view I used I could barely see 3 foot in front of me..... LOVE IT!

Oh and I may have been a witness to a terrorist incident as driving through Cologne I saw a plane vanish in mid air!
 
I've been playing the multiplayer mod with a few mates so far I've had someone coming towards me no lights on wrong side of the motorway in the dark, t-boned deliberately by someone as I was passing a t junction and whilst on the limiter hit from behind by some douche doing about 95mph and I got nothing for the delivery because the trailer was 71% damaged. Too many idiots need to start perma banning not kicking or temp bans.

At a very specific point on a German border, there are little black squares floating in the air on my game. Drone surveillance? ;)
 
What is the point to the multiplayer mod?

Other than setting your own price on deliveries or undercutting the competition(which I don't think you can do) what is the point?
 
I can't see one, other than proving it could be done. Each to their own I guess.

Frame rates appear to have subjectively dropped a little since the spanky new paint jobs patch came out for me. It used to pause/lag in the early versions when loading map segments, but moving the game to an SSD sorted that.
