European Football Leagues 2012-13 [Spain/France/Italy/Germany/other]

Barca really miss a fully fit Villa. If Villa was playing it would a different score line.

Did Benzema even get a touch of the ball? Real Madrid really do have hit or miss strikers in Benzema and Higuian this season.

70% possesion.

faceplam real madrid

Teams need to accept that they're going to get dominated in possession and come up with another way of beating Barcelona. As they move forward as a team and play a high line hitting them on the counter with balls out wide and over the top is probably the best way of doing that and Real could've walked away with the win despite having the ball far less.

If Barca stopped played midfielders at the back all the time, would dominate so easily. Masch does an ok job at times but lacks the pace and gets caught out. Puyol unfortunately is irreplaceable to them big blow him missing after coming back from an injury. Pique plays better when Puyol is there and has had injury problems and set backs as well. Go out and buy 1 already top notch cb and let them partner up with someone you already have (they must make some defenders surely!) and get on with it.
They really need to find a Puyol and desperately the guy was incredible 2-3 seasons ago but now his age and knee issues are becoming a problem.

15 minutes, 4 goals.

17′ André Pierre Gignac
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 23′
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 25′
32′ André Pierre Gignac

Just watch Ibra's goals. What the hell. Pure genius.

All this Messi/Ronny talk but Ibra never getting a mention in?

Ibra is currently the top goal scorer in Europe.

Ibra 9
Messi 8
Ron 8
Falcao 8

Going to be fun seeing who can score the most. Ibra seems to just be walking all over Ligue 1 right now.

They had the chance to buy Javi Martinez. I think in Jan they have no choice but to buy a CB. They are still interested in vermaelen but that would just be cruel to buy him from Arsenal.

I wouldn't be surprised is Song starts playing CB at some point. When was the last time Mascerno actually played in midfield? He is a much better midfielder than CB.

I think with the money they can get from Alves they should have a enough to buy a world class CB. Villa will probably be shifted as well as Messi seems to dislike him. I can also see Sanchez going.

The fact that Ibra free kick went in is embarrassing, what on earth is the keeper doing, it's at a perfect height from 35 yards and he throws one hand out?

Too much power and curve. Don't take anything away from that strike.

Thats Mandanda in goal. France's #2 and captain of Marseille. No slouch.

Madrid .. i know they had a few injuries to deal with, but so have Barca, and Madrid looked really poor tonight.

-edit-

Think i put jinx on Barca :o

Great game to watch, bit of a shame Depor couldn't get the 5th. Fabregas was awesome once again though we yet again got one of the commentators making remarks like "its hard to get a game with that midfield, its good he's shown what he can do when he gets a game".

This absolute fiction that Fabregas has either been playing badly or not getting many games, not first team, its ridiculous. Only games he hasn't started all year were supercup games, he's played more than Xavi and Iniesta(though he's been injured).

Barca created far less and did far less well from the second Fabregas went off, Iniesta dived a for a freekick from a dangerous position but I think thats all he did all game really. Defensively, lol Barca basically, though I'm not convinced the penalty was one, nor that Mascherano should have been sent off, zero movement of his arm outside the norm, definitely didn't throw an elbow or arm towards the guy, if anything he leans down an awful long way to make some contact.

Barca need to buy 2 top class CB's, Pique isn't very good, Puyol has had so many injuries he can't be counted on, they really need two first team CB's with Pique as main back up, Puyol as backup/rotation for a couple more years before retiring.

Unbelievably I agree with all of DM's post. Barca are a joke at the back. They get away with it against most teams because they have so much possession, but against bigger teams or when they go to very hostile grounds like tonight, they get exposed at the back. If it weren't for Messi and Fabregas they would have lost tonight, but those two were just immense. The pass from Cesc for Messi's second goal was ridiculous!

Messi is undoubtedly the best player on the planet, and as far as I'm concerned the best player ever. His goals per game is mental, he's scored 265 goals in 332 games and that was his 20th hat-trick for Barca tonight!

<INSERT SKY 'HE DOENS'T DO IT IN THE IMPORTANT GAMES BULL ****'>

I love Ibra, he's a wonderful, really wonderful forward and he's also utterly mental :D
