European Grand Prix 2011, Valencia Street Circuit - Race 8/19

I hate the undercut on these tyres, Hamilton really gains little doing it and has to suffer tyres that are too old. There's also not benefit to trying to do one less stop because you are a sitting target at the end.

Now the teams have a grip on the tyre wear they just all match each other. There seems to be no tyre strategy anymore.

Why are Sauber sticking with this strategy for Perez? How can it possibly pay off?

Edit: Thank God, he's been off the pace for so long now, poor show from Sauber there.

Tis but one reason I hate the rule that says both tyre types have to be used during a GP, unless it rains. Why can't the teams choose to use only the harder or softer tyre if they want to and not have to use both? :(

Indeed, it wasn't so much the tyres themselves that made the difference at the start of the season, it was just the lack of knowledge of their lifespan.

Now that the teams have plenty of data, they can once again predict just how long they'll last and figure out the optimum strategy which is generally the same for everyone.
