European Grand Prix 2012, Valencia - Race 8/20

Normal racing line was stay as far across to the left as possible, not down the right hand side as Lewis was.

No.

EDIT : As for the claims and alleged evidence of deliberate crowding (rule 20.4) from Hamilton, that's just ridiculous. Hamilton maintained a normal line through the corner. Defending hard, absolutely. Now if Hamilton had run Maldonardo off the track at the corner entry or mid corner, that would be a breach of 20.4. Corner exit of an esses? Never in a million years.

I noticed this tweet from Lea McKensie on the BBC site :D

"I'n hosting the FOTA Fan Forum on Tues at Williams. Guests include Sir Frank Williams, Ross Brawn, Martin Whitmarsh, Pastor Maldonado"

Nice. I might send in a question asking Maldonado why he is such a moron.

In the old days Williams as a team might have been quite critical of a driver for some of the pastor moments this year. In those days though he was paying 10's of millions instead of being propped up with Venezuelan black gold!

:D

Perhaps Patrick would be better on the panel ;)

Who said normal racing line? He was on the line throughout the corner that he commited to when he broke, nothing more or less. He defended the inside which gave him the advantage for that corner. As that picture shows the NORMAL racing line to take the turn normally is from wide left, when you are on the inside, as Hamilton was its literally IMPOSSIBLE to take the same tight line as if you take the corner from the outside. People are arguing against physics, that line in the picture lets you turn much tighter, put the same car with the SAME grip level on the inside they couldn't take that turn as tight, put the same car with almost no grip on the inside, its absolutely laughable to suggest Hamilton COULD have but didn't turn tighter.

Even if Hamilton did push him off line, does that give Maldonado carte blanche to just rejoin into the side of him?

He didn't push him off line and no, it has nothing to do with driving into the side of Hamilton, rejoining where he did is something ONLY a absolutely reckless and dangerous driver would do.

Nobody really cares anymore, but plenty have said Lewis was on the racing line and someone asked who had the more natural line into the corner hence the picture and normal racing line comment? you also said Lewis was ahead into the corner then pictures show otherwise despite you also saying if Pastor was ahead into the corner then all blame would lay with Lewis. Your point now seems to ignore that Lewis could have slowed more and taken the corner without running it out wide, but you probably know that :)

In the depths of pastor vs lewis, has anyone commented that MS had an average race, and inherited a place on the podium becuase of everyone's car either failing or crashing into a wall? He actually got 7th.

Sorry but that statement is just wrong. You could say the same about Alonso. he only won the race because Vettle and Grojsean retired. Webber only got up to 4rth because of the very same reasons MSc got third. Also to correct you he was fifth before Pasta and Lewis collided.

Furthermore Alonso would not have won the race without the safety car and SV's retirement. Would you say Alonso had an average race?

Michael had a great race timing his 2nd tyre stop and then passing the FIs and others on his way to 3rd.

MSc had terrible bad luck in the races before the last.
So, the fact that he inherited a podium, as a result of (good) luck, is something that he deserves.

People keep talking about Grosjean.
Before he retired, Alonso was dropping Grosjean like a bad smell. Vettel was the only guy who deserved to win the race ahead of Alonso. Had there been no retirements, Alonso would've finished 2nd.

Had there been no retirements, MSc would've likely finished 6th or 7th (I think).

So there is a big difference.
