AC Coupled,

currently on Agile.
AC coupled makes it a lot easier to integrate with the Zappi system. If you haven’t already, I’d get a CT on your battery circuit for the myenergi system and that will prevent the myenergi kit from emptying the battery when charging off solar.

You’ll just need to work out away to stop the battery discharging into the car when you wan to charge it from grid.

If you charge it at a fixed time each day that will be easy, most just set the battery to charge as well in those times. If it’s more agile than that and you want to automate it, home assistant is probably the answer.

If your battery is big enough to get you through the expensive period, it’s worth considering intelligent go also.

Did a test drive on the model 3 highland today, didn’t have any issues with the indicator buttons. Really liked it but the finance wasn’t as good as the Y so went with that instead.
I get annoyed that we have the indicator stalk on the wrong side so I imagine indicator buttons would give me a full on meltdown!

I've got all my ct clamps in place and all monitored via the myenergi app, if I've got the eddi enabled it will charge the batteries first and then the hot water before exporting so the system is working perfectly at the moment although with agile it's set to heat the water when the unit price of electric goes below the unit price of the gas.

Will need to see if intelligent go will be enough to see me through the winter hours when solar production is terrible for me so the batteries struggle to last all day - no such problems with agile as there's always a cheaper period to recharge during the day.

I'll likely stick with Agile for the time being as I expect I can run the house, batteries and car from Solar or even charge at a much lower rate and export the solar during the day for 15p (no export on the AC coupled batteries) soon.

First issue with the I Pace.

Charing lead is stuck in the car and car is stuck in "Initialising"

Tried pulling the little red wire in the front boot and it came away in my hand :)

Have called Jag Assist so we'll see how this goes. Hopefully an easy fix.

Not sure if disconnecting the 12v battery works on the iPace.

Edit: Also make sure you have tried hitting the unlock button on the fob a good few times in a row.

the wire in the frunc presumably just goes to a lever and has snapped. have you tried having a feel around and seeing if you can find it.
I had the car stuck on initialising and the cable refusing to release..... it turned out it was a faulty cable.... however the pulling the emergency wire released it
(Is your car a MY21 or newer facelift model? if so I assume you pressed the release button next to the charging socket in the car?).

Mines a pre MY21.

AA dude pulled the rubber surround off and managed to poke around until it cable came out.

So it's out and car will move under its own traction but I can't charge until it's been looked at.

Will speak to local JLR dealer tomorrow.

good luck. will be interested to know what the issue is and how they fix it as it will be something to keep an eye on.

I spoke to my mate last night. he is getting a BMW i4. £500 a month on salary sacrifice including insurance and all running costs (excluding electricity tho he gets work allowance).

for a car north of 60k I thought that was pretty amazing...... the other options were no where near as good value (pug 3008 for £475 for instance) . (I think he wanted something other than a tesla, not because there is anything wrong with them but i think just because there are so many of them...)

Oh dear sounds pretty awful that. Was that at home at least so you weren't stranded?

My car has a little buton to release the cable after charging, not sure if that was new for MY21 though

the button near the charge socket is new for MY21. it isnt fool proof however. when i 1st got my car it had what turned out to be a faulty charge cable, i kept trying and trying and the car got stuck on initialising.... to release i had to use the button to release however on a couple of occasions that didnt work either and i had to use the emergency release cable in the func. Thankfully it has not happened since getting a replacement cable (touches plastic coated wood)

They are well priced at the moment, As company car i can get the 40 Msport with techpack for ~320, its cheaper than a ID5 Style on our scheme, 4 years ago these would have been just the tax, now its a bleeding hefty contribution on top :(

Yeah, we noticed the i4's dropped around £100pm this month on SS, people kept asking me if any good, I just got them to go to the local BMW dealer a whopping 2 miles away and go test drive one..

They are competitive on price to the Tesla's now, so a good alternative, although rear ingress/egress is quite compromised, but 83kwh batteries mean range is decent!

Im seeing really good pricing on the Merc EV'S, Polestar 2, Enyaq. Korean base models are ok, but the nicer specs seem to shoot up in price. Same story for the Ariya, base spec is cheap, nicer spec again shoots up in price.

that seems an incredible deal - what's the catch ; I assume as a private buyer you wouldn't be able to negotiate a compatible RRP reduction though,
and , they are selling into the lease market to use production, and later fill out dealer showrooms with expensive 2nd hand stock.

It’s a company car.
