Given the leases are already 2, 3 or 4 year deals, I imagine it is already priced in. Maybe an upside of they do decide to extend the discount.

The ~£400 charge doesn't apply retrospectively so yes, in theory leases for >£40k EVs will go up £35/month from next year.
EDIT: I can't see them extending the discount as it is priced into the forecast. If anything I can see BIK rates being raised faster than previously expected for both ICE and EV with the aim of getting EV to roughly where ICE is now by 2035. RIP public finances.

Interesting times ahead that’s for sure.
Had a Taycan CT 4S earlier in the week, epic thing and continues to gets under your skin, the steering is great and can really thunder along a b road.
Had a iX M50 tonight, red outside and in! The sounds are just frankly comical in the various modes: zero value other than maybe relax and it’s opera tones, it’s a nice interior though with drive and the AR video screen on during nav is pretty slick but borderline useless if you were you using it for real. Decent drive on the comfort side and very good NVH, shame the frameless doors generate some wind noise.

Not sure the 80 Enyaqs have got as low as 20k yet? I was looking for a mate and 80s seemed to be a chunk over 20 and holding value better than ID4s
Yeah, it’s weird. The really basic entry models were terribly equipped, ultra bland to drive and be in. The ultimate give up on life EV. Yet they hold their value because they are very practical and very efficient for their size. Same as the EV6, holding value for god knows what reason.
I mean you can get a similar aged I-Pace with similar practicality, oodles more style and performance for a similar price.
I did predict the Ioniq5 would be the fashionable EV to have until it wasn’t. That thing is hideous looking and seemed to attract people trying too hard to be cool. Now that it is “so last year” their prices have plummeted compared to an EV6, despite being the same car underneath. And I mean the larger battery models as well.
Used car prices are a fickle thing. Might jump on a used Megane e-tech Iconic for sub £20k by the time my I-Pace lease ends in May.

I called the Ionic 5 back when people were drooling over it when it was released, ugly thing.
It’s not quite Fiat Multipla or what ever that was called but it was never going to age well.
It’s bit like those houses people have retrofitted grey UPVC double glazing (and new builds!), in 20 years we’re going to look back and use the phrase ‘what were they thinking’.

My thoughts at the time as well. I arranged a test drive of one, got there on the day and took one look and told the salesman, “never mind, I won’t waste your time”. I did end up test driving one a few months later when my wife was looking and she didn’t like it either. She said something along the lines of it looking like a fashion accessory and would be out of style very soon. Drive well enough if you prefer soft wallows comfort over a more sporty feel.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I am not a fan of the inside styling but I love the outside looks. it's got a touch of retro but not too much for my taste.
I would have had one over the i3 but we just could not justify 2 big cars..... also they were a bit too new at the time.
the ionic 6 I am less a fan of. I get why people like it but it's not for me personally.
the EV 6 I would also happily own.... l like the front and side profile.... tho must admit it has an ugly ass (again in my subjective opinion

I went and bought a 3 year old hoping the majority of the depreciation has happened (it’s down approx 35k from new) and will return to what’s a normal amount of depreciation but time will tell. I think buying new EVs is financial suicide at the moment.

I sat in an Ionic 6 while waiting around at Bluewater.
In a way I love it, but in other ways it felt and looked too much like a actual Hyundai Coupe, rather than a modern reinvention of one. The rear seats are restricted in height, and the dash was very plastic. Didn't feel like a £50k+ car.

I checked Autotrader and looked at entry Ioniq 5 premium (mid spec model) vs EV6 Air (entry spec) all under 30k mileage. I could not find entry spec Ioniq 5 Advance listed.
EV6 Air from 77kWh battery from £26k
Ioniq 5 Premium 77kWh battery - from £22k
So quite a difference in price.

That's because it is a cheap 10k car with 40k of drivetrain. In the same way a a45 AMG is still basically an entry level mercedes.
Needing tyres is a strange reason to get rid of a car - the Enyaq will also need tyres at some point!
The Ioniq 5 is absolutely stunning when compared to the Ioniq 6 though
I saw one the other day, and thought it was absolutely vile, can't put my finger on why, but the proportions and lines just seem all wrong

interesting, i thought i was an outlier for not liking the looks of the ionic 6. I was more dissapointed because the concept version of it (the prophecy) was really nice.
i just hope the production N vision 74 is close to the concept version (though with proper electric propulsion)

Not the reason to do it, but if I'm going to spend a grand on tyres do I want to do it on a car I'm already thinking about chopping in in the next 12 months or one that I will own for 5 years?
Fair enough - your post read like that (along with the other consumables) were the reason for thinking of getting rid, my bad!

I think I am going to bin off the ID7 idea for a while. See where things land next year. I'm just not ready yet for that level of grown-up.
