Yeah it’s only 835kg you see. And weight is ALL that mattersThe Honda?

Nah. Everyone played Mario kart. The vast majority of people’s definition of handling is how the car handles pot holes and speed bumps. Then how easy it is to park in a tight U.K. parking space.
It'll float over the pot holes.Yeah it’s only 835kg you see. And weight is ALL that matters![]()
people have other purchase priorities and, today, lack experience in an older car with hydraulic steering/rwd/manual gearbox(as well as low weight) - they don't miss what they never had in an everyday'ish saloon.People have an obsession with handling and feel like everyone is driving a 2 seater sports car. The reality is unless you have something really really special, most cars have that disconnected feel. Even the likes of the M3 aren’t really as sharp as they used to be 2 or 3 generations ago.
agree if you mean it is predominately the driver who feels the handling/turn-in/braking... of a car, and as such difficult for someone in (aforementioned ipace) passenger seat to evaluate, can’t compare b road driving like that, it’s a driver thing.

The confusing between grip and handling is the common one. People pressing on and driving fast on the road are only really around 0.35g lateral. Ie half what most cars are comfortable doing.
Drive a better one then. Model 3s have zero feedbackWell, I never said Ev’s handle badly. I just said that it’s hard to know where the limit is when pushing on a B road.
I have only driven 2 EV’s a Tesla model 3 performance and a Ford mustang Mac e awd. I just felt a distinct lack of communication and feel on a B road.
Top gear had the model 3 performance beating a BMW M3 on the track. Ofc this is a single lap. The recent models have similar weight.I don't think comparing the handing of a 5 series is a fair comparison tbh. They are not known for their handling characteristics. An m2,m3,m4 and m5 would destroy 99% of EV’s on a B road.
My mate has a 2020 i Pace and got absolutely dropped by me in my m2 on some Norfolk B roads.
I think most EV drivers would agree that it is hard to know where the limit is when cornering hard.
With an ICE car you can tell when you are at the cornering limit by sound, gear, speed and feel. (Also better feedback when you go over the limit)
Er no:Top gear had the model 3 performance beating a BMW M3 on the track. Ofc this is a single lap. The recent models have similar weight.
Er yes?Er no:
Your video is 5 years old. Mine is 1 month oldEr yes?
Not saying the model 3 is a better track car, just it's handling isn't that bad, also neither is it's weight.
Have you driven a model 3 or just firing some YouTube over the fence ?Er yes?

Plus an EV will always be stock power and degrade over time. An ice car can be tuned.
Uk fastest g87 m2 by R44 performance has 1500hp

If I'd have suggested Hagerty did, you could rightly claim that to be false.
Ok I accept that the model 3 performance beat an f80 m3. It is a biased video, as the f80 m3 was released back in 2014.Mine is from Top gear, hence posting 'Top gear had the model 3 performance beating a BMW M3 on the track.'.

I appreciate it's likely already been covered a million times in various threads but what words of wisdom would you give if you were experiencing an EV for the first time?
