No clear winner but for me it probably comes down to price and pricing seems to vary wildly from day to day depending on what the lease companies want to shift that day.Right, new company, new company car. I only have EV's to choose from, gotta keep it 4 years, unlimited mileage, servicing, maintenance, insurance blah, blah. looking at ~15-20k a year.
Toyota Bz4x motion is the "base car" but with "affordable" monthly uplift's i have narrowed the choice down to:
EV6 GT-line 84KWH 225PS Auto
Skoda Enyaq 85 edition
Skoda Elroq Sportline 85 82KWH 210Kw
Ford Explorer Premium 77KWH Extended Range RWD
Ford Capri Select 77KWH Extended Range RWD
ID4 Style 77KWH Pro 286PS Auto
Theres BMWi4/i5/ix1/ix2, Audi Q4 etrons/sportback e-trons, EVA/EVB's on the list, and whilst affordable, it seems to get bells & whistles, you have to pay through the nose for "packs".
Theres no Polestars, Genesis, Volvo, Telsa Y (they have the 3). Charger getting installed FOC soon.
Is there a clear winner I need to consider, or is it much a muchness and decide when i go waste the dealerships salesguys time at the weekend?

No problems here but it's early days so I haven't had a bill yet. Smart meter data shows on myWatts with about a 90 minute delay. That is verses Octopus where I wouldn't see data until the following day.The guys who have switched to Tomato, have you had any problems with billing or smart meters and any problems with your EV chargers? I am very very tempted to switch to them as it would bee a significant saving for me. I would have done it before but I'm not convinced that they will be around long term.
Had my first bill a few days ago. 70 quid and spot on.The guys who have switched to Tomato, have you had any problems with billing or smart meters and any problems with your EV chargers? This is my £90 DIY setup.Got a mate who's getting a cheap leaf as a second car.
In the same budget frame of mind he's asked instead of getting a 700 quid EV charger plus install, why not get a leccy to do the following:
40A RCD Breaker, 6mm Cable going to one of these
Industrial Socket IP67
Choose this industrial socket when you need to provide power to an appliance in an outdoor area that's exposed to the weather or lots of dust. You can use it to connect to the mains supply when you're operating items needing higher voltage and currents like caravans, motorhomes and electrical...www.toolstation.com
Then get a £150 32A portable charger from Amazon?

In the gray box is the granny charger that came with the car. Slow charge but I only charge once a week so it works out fine.
Been using it for 3 months.
If you can forgive some of the stupid design choices inside (just like most cars now) and the less-than-great software, used models can be had for pretty cheap now.Is the ID3 any good?

Quite the variety of options there. What are you going to be using it for predominantly?Wouldn’t be against something electric and a bit cheaper than mine.
Mini - wife already has one
Taycan - some tempting prices on cars near me
etron GT - have always quite liked this one, but pricier
ID3 - cheaper seemingly than lots of alternatives, doesn’t look to bad, bit slow
We've been out trying loads BEVs for the past few days, thought we'd pick one up prior to the introduction of ECS, irks me paying that, missus really likes the Capri, I just can't because I'm one of those car enthusiastsConsider: Audi Q4/VW ID4 & ID5, Ford Explorer & Capri, Skoda Enyak are all the same underneath with a different set of clothes on top. None are really best in class at anything but they are ‘fine’ if the price is right and you are happy with the way they look. Just expect to get some stick from ‘car enthusiasts’ if you buy the Capri….
I'm so tempted to move from Fuse Energy. Moved to Fuse because they were the only provider that would willingly attempt to install a smart meter - and of course it works perfectly (all other suppliers refused the install because 'computer says no - zero signal in your area'). Apparently they're going to be launching EV tariffs soon but can't see them beating Tomato in terms of price.Had my first bill a few days ago. 70 quid and spot on.
They obviously require a SMET2 smart meter.
Can track use and spend on the desktop web browser mywatts and the bill also itemises it in detail.
Standing charge is a lot less than octopus.
So far so good. If they go bump hey ho there's no risk to the consumer, would try eon drive next.
