Posting videos and running is lazy. End of, I would say discussion but that’s the point, there has been none.
there has been none.
But for those of us who aren't keen on it for whatever reason, whether by choice or by circumstance, we're perfectly able to participate in these discussions and pose some questions.
Why do we need to make the change though?
It's not possible to engage in a discussion about EVs and their purpose though. As soon as you post something up questioning whether the industry is doing the right thing the frothers come out guns blazing because how dare anyone question their cars choices.
Air quality. It doesn't matter which way you cut it, air quality is towns and cities is terrible and a huge proportion of that is down to the internal combustion engine. The other biggest contributor is the humble boiler. Why do we need to make the change though?
I see you've skulled the hell out of the Kool Aid and are so far down this hole that you're past the point of no return.
I tend to forget that reasoned discussion isn't on the cards in the EV thread, you're either a complete convert who prays at the altar of kilowatts or you're a "dinosaur".
I also see that in a thread where someone was asking about the brakes on a Micra, you recommended a used Nissan Leaf![]()
What's your actual argument? All you have done is post someone else's opinion has the gospel truth. It's like EV Bingo with you lot sometimes. Look, we get it, it works for you, that's great. I wish you all the best. I genuinely do. But for those of us who aren't keen on it for whatever reason, whether by choice or by circumstance, we're perfectly able to participate in these discussions and pose some questions. Just take it as it is, a discussion, not someone throwing shade at your car choices.
I think this used to be called the 'when are you going EV' thread, maybe some of them havn't noticed the thread title change yet...It's not possible to engage in a discussion about EVs and their purpose though. For the record, I couldn't care less what anyone drives. Ride a horse for all I care. The EV market is very interesting because it's in such a confused state at the moment and it's genuinely interesting to see how it all unfolds. Problem is you're not allowed to ask any challenging questions in here, either subscribe to the EV lifestyle or stay out.
Pity really.

Absolutely this. It’s made me very aware when walking around town how much traffic stinks and how bad it must be for our lungs. I’m envious of the generation who will live in a time when no vehicles are putting out such pollution.
A huge proportion of cars in my area are now EVs, it’s great to see.
Western car manufacturers will see their market share go up in smoke if they abandon plans for EV adoption, China is gunning for them and is already marching ahead.
I was pretty anti EV, but this latest batch of them is impressive. I’m actually surprised in my area how many cars now seem to be electric. It’s changed quickly.
We will see a big brand or 2 fall though, Ford maybe. Stellantis may drop one of their brands, someone like Vauxhall or Fiat.
I don't think VW group can keep all of theirs either, there is just too much crosstalk. Cupra are smashing it, Skoda are doing ok too.
Getting quite old the number of people who post an illogical rant. Then when it's gets roasted complain you can't have a discussion on the EV forum. You reap what you sow.
Haven't watched Harry's video yet. His videos seem further and further into subjects and cars with budgets too high to retain my interest. Still a fountain of knowledge. He's so far from the average Leaf or Zoe or MG owner he seems very disconnected from it all or me.
Imo theres a quite a number of things happening. One of which was manufacturers profiteering pushing the cost of EVs higher. Then a price war with China which is subsiding its EV cars, which no one can compete with. That has collapsed the residuals of EVs to a degree. There's also a shortage of new and used ICE cars which has propped up their residuals as had the lack of disincentives to drive an ICE.
Hybrid is a back door around the disadvantages of an ICE. It's the flavour of the month. But they are effected by all the same issues of BEVs. They have smaller battery's need charging more, will be obsolete even faster. Maybe they will suit some better. If the market values them. Then it doesn't really matter what the pros and cons are.
I test drove an Enyaq, but it felt like driving a barge. And I was coming from a Tiguan Allspace at the time!ID4/5 did nothing for me, the Enyaq felt a much better car. Tavascan also has something about it.
