It's a beast!

You're the third person to say that today
Never driven an electric car before, just been out to the shops in it. It's very.......different to say the least
I find non-EV's utterly boring to drive now, especially the lower ends cars, the fact a crap Hyundai is more exciting than my Merc says a great deal about ahow crap the Merc is, and b) how fun EV's instant power is, especially when coming out of a corner, or doing some twisty roads where the you'd have to dick around shifting gears in an ICE.

.I've not properly got used to it yet, but don't think it will take long. Might go out for the day on Saturday in it.
What I will say, it's very comfy, but starting the 'engine' and pulling out of the drive is just completely wrong with no noise.
When we started moving, the mrs was like...oh god where moving already. It's just so strange.
Turn on VESS
in the MMI? I've looked in car, and in settings and can't find anything like that.
It might have a dedicated button, mine does, but it is near the buttons next to the drivers door. I assume you've read the manual for the vehicle?
I'll have a lookof course I haven'tI'll have a look
No sound from mine and no button in the car either. There is zero mention of Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS) in the manual for mine. All it says in the manual is something about the car being very quiet and in some countries it has a virtual engine sound.
Sorry, I assumes Journey was referring to a VESS button in his E-Tron. No big deal though, I am very pleased there is no such sound on mine.
It might be standard always on now, rather than giving the choice.

The leaf has the same thing, and you can't hear any difference between it being on or off from inside the cabin.Very interesting. I've spoken to a few etron owners on speakev and it seems no UK etron has the noise!
