I was supposed to be getting my iX3 tomorrow, but received a call at 4 p.m. yesterday telling me there was a safety recall and BMW couldn't legally hand it over.

No idea how long it'll be. BMW chat said:



So an actual hardware issue, but luckily in the Gen 6 cars they made it easier to repair that sort of thing. On an iX, i5 etc (Gen 5) they would have to break the battery seal and sort it that way!

I thought I might be getting a lemon, but it has affected a bunch of cars.

Hope it gets sorted quickly. My i5 had the brake recall back in 2024, arrived in UK July 2024 and was PDI'd and quite literally 2 days from being delivered then BMW UK stopped it, eventually delivered to me Jan 2025......
