EV general discussion

As others have hinted at, V2H will not power your house in a powercut. At best you can use V2L on an extension lead through a window.

For this to take place you need an automatic or manual change over switch to physically isolate you from the grid.

As @200sols said, get a proper solar and battery setup which will do that job.

That's how I did it, the 4 gang V2L extension lead in to the house through the window and then a few other extension to get power to where it was needed. As long as the 1.8kW isn't exceeded then it's fine in an emergency. Unlike a solar/battery system I can get a recharge by going to a public charger, just got to make sure you don't drain the battery too much!

Also means I can take the air fryer when the lad and I go camping .

Here what I said to someone else I know, same applies if you change your car semi-regularly.

For once in your life just spend less on the car you are going to have for next next XYZ period of time, buy something considerably cheaper and spend the difference on a good solar and battery setup with a gateway/off-grid mode. Invest in your home.

For sure, it's in the works but now isn't the right time for me.
