It would only have been able to get battery percentage if it was linked to the car's API - if this has been disconnected or the API changed in some way that requires you to remove/reconnect the car, the Ohme won't be able to access it anymore.

Generally speaking, I always found it easier to tell it what percentage I wanted anyway - I think they've since changed the app to make you input the current percentage to try and discourage people from just putting 'Add 100%' regardless of the actual charge state and breaking the smart charging algorithms.

All a distant memory now though, seeing as Ohme fell out with Ovo so now it's just an expensive plug :p

Same with my Ohme ePod, certain elements of it can be more complex, but you can ignore those. They mainly relate to the Octopus IOG stuff.

You simply just set the tariff hours and price cap, plug in, and it does the rest. You can just leave the dynamic charging stuff off.

Which car? BMW have stopped access I believe. It's only energy suppliers now who can access the BMW API to manage charging.
Eon Smart Drive Eon app was managing charging of my i3 by sending charging schedules to the car. Worked fine except until Eon detect the car as being plugged in, and takes over charging management, the car just goes ahead and starts charging immediately.

Vote for untethered from me! Takes me maybe 15 seconds longer to get my car charging than those who are using tethered options, but the charge cable lives in the "frunk" for easy access. I feel untethered just looks so much cleaner.
 
I'm on an Ohme Pro with Octopus. Chargers connected as it always has been as issues with BMW/IOG connectivity and also Renault doesnt seem to play nicely with IOG either. For now all i do is plug the car in, choose which car it is and tell it to charge by whatever % is required. The charger works out when to turn on/off to get the best rates. It's not been an issue and even my wife can manage to work it out, which i am frankly amazed by........

Is that the same with Audi. I haven't been able to connect OHME to my Audi for a few months.

API support is currently available for the following brands:
  • Audi
  • Cupra
  • Nissan
  • Porsche
  • Renault
  • Skoda
  • Tesla
  • Volkswagen
  • Volvo
 
Had a hospital appointment for a treatment on my knee this morning and Dr Grays in Elgin has a pair of free charging points so I thought I would see if they were available, the Electroverse app said they were. When I got there I found a pair of cars parked in the slots, one was a ICE powered car and the other was a EV that wasn't plugged in. Loads of other parking slots available so why block the EV charging slots? People are so ignorant these days!!

Get an extra long charging cable, park sideways in front of them both and plug in.



Problem sorted.
 
For some reason I can't log the Audi api into the OHME app anymore. They might say it's supported, but it doesn't work for me. I've logged an issue with OHME when it happened and got naff all back from them.

If I could go back, I wouldn't have got an OHME. Complexity, and none of it serves you.

Yep, got mine wrapped, looks so much better.
On the FB groups people who hate the grill just buy the Ali express one, looks good and much cheaper than the BMW one.
