it's not the warranty that gets the charge point it's the jaguar approved. do check out main dealers. after you factor in 2 year warranty and charge point (if deal is still on) it's not much of a premium.
do make sure it's a MY21 (so late 2020 onwards) car.
it has pivi pro onboard computer, 11kw charging and most importantly one of the 12v batteries which is the an expensive replacement has been gotten rid off. looking at auto trader £26.5k will get you a HSE spec MY21. personally I would not risk a super cheap older one but that is just me.
you can easily tell if it's the right model if it has 40/20/40 split rear seats and not 60/40 (I noticed some sellers "accidentally" confuse the specs of older cars
Thanks both and that advice is perfect. I didn't realise one of the two 12v batteries were removed in the MY21 versions so that's definitely a plus too!Tell tale between 20MY and the revised 21MY from outside is the door jaguar graphic. Initially a flat in moulded hologram graphic 21MY has 3D proper JAGUAR letters on the door.
Incredible things in this weather, still grip like a limpet. I’ve ordered a 400 SPORT so keen to see what the adaptive dynamics ( Bilstein CVD dampers) brings to the table.
You can write off Seat as a brand. They've committed to Cupra as being the brand for mainstream cars going forward. Or as they confusingly put it "The future of Seat is Cupra".I’m also not sure where their brand strategy is going. They’ve seeming now have 4 brands competing for the exact same customers (VW, Skoda, Seat and Cupra). Their products are very similar these days, some are basically identical.
This is where government need to bring in a right to repair law. or else we'll all be paying £100p/hr main steelership prices.gigacast and structural battery pack and in the future monocoque shell and pack would certainly make production cheaper and more efficient ie less weight to lug around.
But all that would mean repair cost would be high or nigh on impossible for your local mechanic. It will create a monopoly and make products hugely anti-consumer. Like Apple.
If there is structural damage to the frame then you can’t just bend it back or cut a section out and weld it again as it is a cast frame.
Similarly for the battery pack. Structural battery pack will mean the car may have to be temporarily strutted?
Whilst economy and cost effectiveness is one thing. Producing a product that is not readily repairable is not a good way forward.
Car industry has evolved over 100years and its current derivation of mass produced car are cost effective for that very reason - small and cheap and readily available and replaceable parts make ownership universal.
Otherwise we will all be starring ownership cost of a Chiron or McLaren F1.
The real stinger will be car insurance if it becomes 'cost effective' to write off nearly new cars due to the complexity of repair. This is where government need to bring in a right to repair law. or else we'll all be paying £100p/hr main steelership prices.

It's typical, the ones around 2021 are the ones I'm looking at and they suffered most from the chip shortages. I'm not sure if I'd even care for HUD or the 360 camera but it would bug me not getting something it should have had!
my December 2020 MY21 was a covid car and lost the motorway driving assist (it has lane keep assist but that is all)It's typical, the ones around 2021 are the ones I'm looking at and they suffered most from the chip shortages. Does it dim with the usual dash dimmer scroll wheel? I can't remember where it is on the Jag (nor my Merc, I thought I'd cooked the dials they were so dim but turned out I'd just knocked the brightness wheel!).my December 2020 MY21 was a covid car and lost the motorway driving assist (it has lane keep assist but that is all)
it also lacks automatic parking which I presume is linked to the missing hardware above.
other than that I think the HSE has everything else. (the HUD is great in the daylight and dusk, over all I love it so glad I didn't lose that, tho in pitch black it can be a distraction I wish it dimmed in the dark (setting somewhere maybe ? hell I can't even fathom wireless android auto!)
Whilst I would rather have the drive and park assist than not, I expect it lowers the price 2nd hand to make it more affordable.
the thing I would like is the rear view camera which is an option built into the rear view mirror but this was always a paid extra even on the HSE AFAIK and not a "freebie".
someone else asked about the chargepoint. iirc it wasn't linked to finance but ab offer on all Jag used approved Ipaces
not sure if the offer is still on. I didn't get it as I bought elsewhere as they didn't have the spec I wanted. I do regret that decision as once warranty and what not was included it was not much of a premium. I believe you can also take out the finance offer, get a chunk of change discounted on the car for doing it, and then cancel in the cooling off period and pay the car off
some say that is dishonest, no judgement from me either way.![]()

not sure. it's a good question I may have a fiddle with it at the weekend as I winter I drive more in the dark than Indo the light.Does it dim with the usual dash dimmer scroll wheel? that is great thanks. You can control brightness, the HUD content and the height of the projection within the cluster menus using your left steering wheel thumb controls.
not me. I already have oneSounds like the HUD option is worth having then!![]()
I hope you guys won't all be competing for the same I pace with me in a few months or a year![]()
Company cars, lease cars, ex rentals, ex demonstrators... same applies to anything that people are driving for a fixed duration and have no personal liability if the thing breaks. My worry about ex company cars is the previous 'owners' absolute disregard for any care of the battery. The amount I see on the Audi groups that couldn't care less about charging to 100% all the time - despite all the warnings the car gives about it.
