The service centre think the button or solenoid that holds the charge flap in place sometimes doesn't register if it's open so stops the cable going in.

Sounds right to be fair.

There were no courtesy cars so Assist got Enterprise involved who initially offered me a mini. I declined and stuck to my guns a bit on "premium" because I'm a bit miffed having to pay for the diagnosis.

They've given me a new 4 door Defender It's not particularly nice to drive but is absolutely huge and quite cool on the novelty factor.

Have to hand it to Jaguar, the process has been fairly painless.

Looking to get a leasing scheme at work. Currently looked at octopus but seem a bit expensive. Anyone have any recommendations?

They can all be much of a muchness if setup to favour the employee
- Pass on employer NI savings to the employee
- If possible recover VAT and pass that on to the employee. (depends on size of business as to what percentage that can be).

We went to 7 companies, but as we aren't that large a business, we tried to maximise savings to the employee, but found it still around 4% more than their exemplar prices for max savings, since the VAT recovery was reduced for our specific case.

We ended up with LoveElectric in the end, mainly as they (at the time) were top 3 in terms of pricing on a range of cars people had proposed and suited our CFOs comfort with liability etc.. They had loads of deals on pre Xmas, but those are much reduced now and honestly they seem just average, slightly cheaper than Octopus, e.g. Model Y RWD, Octopus £530, LoveElectric £506 for the exact same assumptions (you can save more or less than that depending on your circumstance and mileage/length of lease), pre-Xmas, those Model Y's where £420!


If you are larger, then approach a few, Lex Autolease (some, like LoveElectric are just brokers for them anyway), SelectCar, Tasker, etc..

Home charging question as my i4 should be arriving in April and need to get sorted in advance....

I have an old Chargemaster (think they changed to Polar or BP...?) charger from when I had a Mitsubishi PHEV a while back - but it's got a tethered Type 1 connection so obviously won't directly fit majority of newer cars! Has anyone been in the same situation, and gone with the cheap option of an adaptor?

• If so any comments / concerns?
• Did you go for the "solid" tube type one, or the 2 connectors with short cable link between - any pros and conns for either?
• Any other thoughts....?

It's not been used 4-5 years! But still seems to power up fine so assuming fine, and want to get it tested with adaptor to ensure I don't need a plan B over the next couple months.

I've got a solid Type2 to Type1 adapter for if I want to use my Ohme Pro on the Nissan. Bit clunky, but it works fine. Only drawback is that it doesn't lock in.

Cheers, it would be on drive on quiet street so don’t think lack of lock in “should” be an issue.

Potentially, yes - but it’s more expensive (albeit better result in end) but concerned about doing something wrong and causing damage, and if I paid someone to do it, it would probably be almost same cost just to swap the charger!

Yep true, but then we’re talking £500 plus for just charger vs £70 for adaptor, and that’s before fitting. And ultimately it should give same end result - charge the car….

He’s hardly driven it to answer your question!

In my view they are ace, much wider view, passengers like being able to see behind too ! Loved it in my Evoque and the PS4 roof line will only make it better.

Jeez you must think every white van on the road is about to crash because they can’t see out the back window to “triangulate” everything behind them

Aye but in all fairness, you can explain why they have poor rear visibility. The Polestar is just aesthetics to deliver the poor visibility.

Except with the camera mirror it’s probably better than then Polestar2. That said the Cd is nothing to write home about anyway.

I’ve been driving a model Y where the rear view barely exists anyway so used to relying on the side mirrors more . So camera is a bonus. I like the fact the boot is just a separate hidden space and closed off more from the passenger area.

Also the camera will defrost faster than a window..
