There were (supposedly) two in a green covering, I was parked where the blue car is and that smudged figure looks like me :)

We are finally having chargers put in at work. Don't know what size, but 15 or 16 of the buggers. I am presuming they will be max 22kwh due to the current pull if they are all used at the same time. Will be great for me as I work shifts so can pop the car on charge overnight. (I work away, so usually top up at a public charger to get me home). Early April is when they are supposed to come online.
 
Also, this last couple of weeks has just shown how brutal on range the wet/windy/cold weather can be on range in the ID4, granted not the most aerodynamic car.
January around 220-230 miles per charge with average speed of around 60mph
March around 275 per charge with similar average speed.
 
^ Saw one of those in Asda last Friday and I must say I really liked it, definitely in my top three of the new EV's. My biggest pet hate with new cars is the design of the dash but the EV6 is nice and doesn't have a big tablet in the center that looks like a afterthought. Nice, hope you enjoy it.

suppose that is down to them not acknowledging level of inconvenience for it's problems -
but if 2K were considered genuine use months, having £300 of the pro-rata-d £1.2K down, lost sounds like a bullet missed, anticipating future issues -
would they give you an alternative on (such) good terms, now.

Unlikely. I’m paying 408 for the ID.7 with 12k miles, fully maintained.

Today I made a trip to the dealer who have the car, and they’ve advised me they’ve been unable to repair it. They tried to replace the main computer I think but no good.

They’re now going to review each wiring loom and control unit to ensure they’re functioning properly, but can’t give me any indication as to when they’ll have it working.



In the meantime, I’m still stuck with the MG which doesn’t have the ability to set a charging schedule, and has a number of faults. Going round in circles with VW and Alphabet about getting a proper courtesy car, as I’ve argued that I’m not paying £410 a month for an MG.


Getting nowhere with anybody. Not sure what to do at this stage.

Well I have a level of good news. After making 25 phone calls yesterday to try and chase for an update on a replacement courtesy car (in addition to travelling to the dealer), Enterprise called at 17:30 to advise me that they’d finally been given the green light by VW to put me in something more appropriate, AND were able to source something immediately through pure chance.


They’ve put me in an EQE which is absolutely lovely.

Most shocked at the range. 50% when I picked it up with 185 miles remaining. Could see it getting pretty close to 400 miles in the summer.
 
I’d potentially consider an EQE but the Mercedes deals are just really poor compared to the likes of BMW. Not entirely sold on the exterior though…

Yes it will do close to 400 in summer, in the winter with the non heat pump model can get 270, but if you have the newer model year it will do even more.

It's it the EQE 350+ Sport? Or something else?
 
@Robbo I was in the same spot as you re the ID7 vs i5 debate. The deals on the ID7 swung it for me and 1 month in I have no regrets. I know @MrRockliffe's had all sorts of problems and without wanting to rub salt into his wounds, mine's been near flawless. The only issue I've experienced is when unlocking the car when you're inside - there's sometimes a small lag between pressing the unlock button on the drivers door and the doors unlocking. Other than that and it's not really a fault with the car but more a design issue, the controls on the steering wheel can be too easily pressed when just steering. I'm forever skipping tracks or turning the heated steering wheel on when going round a bend. Build quality is generally excellent for the price, it's comfortable, loads of space and like you say, while not fast for an ev, there's more than enough power.

Without taking any care, cruising at 80mph, I've been getting pro-rata 270-280 mile ranges in the last month on motorway journeys and 300+ miles when just going round town.

Exterior isn’t great but having been in and driven a few different EVs now, the Mercedes is evidently a much better package.


Don’t think it’s a bad looking car though, especially compared to everything new BMW put out.
