EV general discussion

Good to see the EQC holding up well after 215Km/135k miles, pack was also repaired (interesting videos if you like that sort of thing)

hadn't realised even evtheist Harry liked R5 - handling/economy/weight .... only b-mol I've seen elsewhere was turning off juddery auto-hold for parallel parking.
? the LSD in the shared chassis alfa-velocee really helps with refinement.

LSD and refinement? Put the LSD down.. and the keyboard.

Leon Cupra 290 according to Google goes at 0 to 60 in 5.5 secs, my mate timed my normal MG4 Trophy at 6 seconds.
It says 7.7 seconds on Google but we did two runs (his watch could be wrong before JohnnyCoupe flies in).

Wind it in.

The day I care about top trump paper stats on shopping trolley cars is the day I’ll charge rent to live in your head.

The best thing you can possibly do is go and drive a few then make your mind up from there. The kind of money you're looking at seems sensible to me but be very wary of spending too much of your own cash in a lump sum (i.e outside of a lease/PCP where you have a relatively fixed value point) on an EV as the tech and values of the cars themselves can move very quickly.

Yeh.

Appreciate what you mean about residuals too as they could be a bit unknown so the less spent the better perhaps.

I can see that the mg4 has lost almost half its value in two years as a 2 year old trophy long range can be had for £17k now. Also the EV6 seems to have lost half its value in 3 years.

Though it does seem like they offer deeper discounts of the mg4 from new.

Well that looks like a generic fugly PoS...

Shame, the current one is quite nice IMO

Yeh....

It's like they tried to make it look more like an id3....which is a massive mistake because the id3 is horrendous looking.

I swear some manufacturers need all new design teams.

I think Kia make some of the nicest looking cars at the moment to be honest.

At least it's not another jacked up crossover. People (used to) like generic looking hatchbacks, if they didn't you wouldn't see so many of them around.

If the sales for the old model in China have stalled, it must be out of fashion there vs. the newer cars.

yes looks ugly compared to current one - perhaps themselves and JLR are on (the other) LSD jonny ?
e: come to think of it Sgt Pepper's copies nothing though.

While "quite nice" is obviously down to opinion & personal taste, you can't deny the current model is a lot more unique & interesting looking than this new one which appears to be a Peugeot 307 from Temu

Thats one way of putting it. The front end of the old one is just about passable but the back end of the old one is utterly attrocious, it sets off my gag reflex just thinking about it

I agree the current one is "nicer" than the revised one, but I don't personally like either.
