From an age perspective it seems good. Will be very interesting to see where it is at when a full decade oldI'd say that's pretty good?

As is my S&S ISA (AKA my pension pot).... at least with trump shenanigans the price of petrol is low.
but I'm not sure it's even that relevant on an EV
Good thinking, hadn't thought of that.Might have been disconnecting the 12v battery, fixes a multitude of issues. Not sure if they can do that with the bonnet closed yet.![]()
Love an old Top Gear video and this one popped up in my feed.
Reminds me of all the people who need an 800 mile range before fill-ups or the car just won't work for them. Looking at some of the maths in the video the total is ~800 miles, first leg was 7h 58 mins, so about 50MPH average speed, going slower than lorries and drafting etc. no heating, no other creature comforts, weeing in a bottle rather than stopping, and he still stopped over night! So efficient for a big old car, reasonably so, but very slow when you can do the same thing in a modern EV, and charge from 10-60% in 10-15 minutes while using a proper toilet. Still a good/funny video, and I totally forgot it existed, but really goes to show just how long driving that far takes and not stopping is highly unlikely.
78.9p/L! Those were the days
TBH I miss the range of my old Passat TDI with it's 70L tank. It was never about not stopping, more about cost and convenience. Fill up before I set off and all but my longest of trips wouldn't need refueling at all.
How is it working out cost wise for business use? When I started driving it was 55p/l back in the mid/late 90’s. Had a Carina E that ran forever on a fivers worth. Clattery 306 DT was the best for economy for me. Anyone remember the blockades when fuel hit a quid a litre!
On another note, loving this weather, the VW brick is doing 4.7m/kw locally, still a poor 3.8 on the motorway, but that could be due to the still cold mornings.
Dint really get the point you are trying to make. Do you mean drive at 50mph to get 40 mpg.Can you do 40mpg in a V8 diesel?
Yes.
Would you want to?
**** no.
Batteries FTW.

For as long as HMRC hang a figure of 7ppm on electricity I can't see our finance guy offering anything other than that. I'm sure that is the case in many businesses and that's a big problem![]()
