You'll get approx 7kwhours x4hours

So roughly 28kwh (you can work out what % of battery this is based on full capacity)

Range is variable between manufacturers but if you bang the figures in AI and use between 250 wh/mile and 400 wh/mile should be a good upper /lower bands

Using this calc:

  1. Convert to Watt-hours: 28 * 1,000 = 28,000 Wh
  2. Divide by Efficiency: 28,000 /250 = 112 miles
Which is contrary to your answer, but follows up with:

Summary of common multipliers:


  • If efficiency is 200 Wh/mi Multiply kWh by 5
  • If efficiency is 250 Wh/mi Multiply kWh by 4 (Your car example)
  • If efficiency is 333 Wh/mi Multiply kWh by 3
  • If efficiency is 500 Wh/mi Multiply kWh by 2

:confused: 28 * 4 = 112 which is what Simon said
 
The amount of energy and water wasted by people for stuff like this. Plus the impact on brain, by not using it, is quite worrying

250wh/mile is 4m/kwh and shouldn’t need any outside help

Anyway for rule of thumb on typical car 3 is about this time of year. And more when warmer is a bonus.

That makes more sense now you've clarified units, yep just easier for a quick response /calc between work. I've not woke up fully today
 
No door handles on the EX60 is a suprise. Sort of fins. Wonder if they have launched in time to avoid the china legislation of physical non deploying exterior handles.

You’ve probably got more insight than most but given that’s a fairly recent announcement, wouldn’t the design of the EX60 been locked in well before this came out as confirmed?
 
Yes its likely all planned, designed and released way before that. Its a a suprise to all and depends on the homologation date. Its looking like some current cars we might be 'changing' too.

oh no does that mean an end to streamlined cars with flush door handles then? (I can't imagine going forward different skus for different markets).
I suppose if it is proven that retractable or streamlined handles cause accidents that it is right that safety should trump asthetics...... but I really like my ipace door handles!

I wonder if the flappy ones like on my old fiat coupe may make a comeback then? they were flush but still always accessible.

that said tho...... devils advocate. they are suggesting they are dangerous because of a handful of accidents where the door failed to open. accepted, 1 death is too many BUT how many people have died in the back of 2 door but 4 seater cars because they were trapped in the back? I dare say far far more than were trapped by flush door handles. does that mean 2 door cars need to be banned as well with all passengers in a vehicle having access to their own door? or what about child locks on doors?

I don't think they cause accidents

From what little I know about it, Chinese consumers demanded these flush door handles - Then there were some car accidents and the emergency services were unable to open the doors easily, and so the Chinese government decided to ban them from 2027.

poor wording on my part sorry. sure I meant if they are dangerous in the event of an accident
 
I see Germany have re-added up to €6,000 incentive for new BEV/PHEV's - means tested, unlike what we have here that the manufactures take/add to the front costs, much better way to do it. I've not bothered adding more detail as jpaul would be the only one who is interested. ;)
 
So after the sad demise of the Etron GT, which is off to get its battery sorted having owned it for a grand total of 17 days (6 of which it was at the dealer...) I've just ordered a Polestar 3 DM with Plus and Pilot packs. Having had the P4 and the price I've just paid for this it was hard to say no. I did look at the i4 m50 and i5 m60, but both worked out considerably more for an older car with more miles, so didn't make sense. Hopefully should be collecting it over the weekend if everything goes to plan and Audi can have their little A1 loan car back.

unapologetic francophile sorry - Ze europeans have got the right approach to try and support local manufacture, versus KS, despite that seems the seal phev is top 2025 trumps there.
Milliband nonetheless offering up the let them eat cake strategy here with free solar panels & batteries.

NCAP seem to be missing a trick on the door handles - combined with more laminated glass on side windows everyone will be safer inside.

If i understand it correctly (and I’m prepared to be corrected) you can still do a flush handle like on a Tesla model 3/Y because it’s doesn’t electronically present but it will need to be mechanically linked to the lock mechanism rather than electronically as it currently is on those cars.
