EVDB as a lived experience range resource ? have never looked at it, that's where I would be going wrong,
assumed it is just a using typical extrapolation from wltrp values for seasonal variation, like GenX using google AI for advice, versus some engineering acumen.
isn't Born much more credible resource, some science in the madness.
You need to have an ev to have a lived experience

No need for a lived experience, just a level of trust that has been established over many years by those with a lived experience. Every EV I have owned, and a few I had a longer term experience of have been around where EVDB efficiency numbers state. So that has given me good enough reason to assume with reasonable confidence that the numbers they present for other EVs are pretty accurate.

Also without sounding like a dick, the problem with other people’s numbers (including Bjorn Nylands), is that they tend to be very situational with multiple factors vastly varying the outcome. It’s why I don’t put too much credibility on what other people claim for efficiency. They aren’t “wrong”, it’s just what their “lived experience is” and not necessarily indicative of what “my lived experience” would be.

Saw my first new Nissan Leaf in the wild, as it almost drove head on into me, not a good start lol.

Off the top of my head I think the new Leaf has automatic emergency braking across the range - and in my experience absolutely no reason to disable it despite some of the other safety systems in my opinion being less than ideal.
 
My Ohme still charges in small 15 mins or under chunks allocated by Octopus. Octopus are going to be charging per half hour session and anything under is charged at the full half hour. Think I might look at switching as both Ohme and Octopus have kept promising it will be fixed but it’s still the same.
 
Over 300 miles driven yesterday most of it on the M6 and managed 3.2mkwh sat at 70mph with auto climate on at 19c. Pretty happy with that tbh. Only downside was being stranded at a charge station for 5 hours as the payment network had failed and the wife’s Corsa had 1% charge. In the end I drove to the next charger down just made it and then went back and charged the Corsa from the EV6. Made a 5 hour journey nearly 12 but such is the fun with EV’s.

We're still getting the throttling that no one is admitting to doing on our Hypervolt so we'll see what happens when we move to the 6 hour cap.

Octopus have been quite clear with regards to the charging cap that charging time is actual charging time - if the car charges for 15 minutes, it'll count it as 15 minutes. I don't think what you perceive to be a problem actually will be. You won't 'use up' half an hour of your charging cap time if only 15 minutes of charging takes place.

You'll get the whole half hour slot at a lower rate for the house though, if that 15 minutes is outside the overnight off peak window.

It’s 6 hours charging not 6 hours 30 min billing slots.

In my experience, customer service staff don’t understand the tariff, certainly not this kind of nuanced detail, particularly first line call handlers so I would take anything said with a pinch of salt.

Edit: it will probably also still throttle on Ohme, hypervolt and other chargers of you ask for less than 42kwh because they can still deliver this within the 6 hours at a slower speed.

They take advantage of local grid schemes and get paid to turn down chargers at certain times as well as turn them up/on at certain times.

There is a lot going on with this tariff behind the scenes that is invisible to almost everyone.

3.2mi/kWh at 70 in warm weather sounds pretty poor.

I think they're confusing you by talking about billing, which is half hourly but this works in your favour if your charge slot is less than 30 minutes. From their website about the upcoming changes:
A quick note on half-hour billing: We bill in 30-minute chunks. If your car charges for just 10 minutes, that entire half-hour is billed at the off-peak rate for both your car and your home.

Also on the website about the incoming cap:
Your freebie (the bonus home rate): If we schedule your car to charge outside of the 23:30–05:30 window, your home also gets the off-peak rate for that half-hour when it’s within your car allowance.

Would’ve been fantastic in my EQC.
I did a trip from raf leeming back to Newcastle last night(62m) and did 3.85miles per KWh@70mph in my polestar 2, I sat a 62mph on the way there and got 4.4miles per KWh , my trips to work (5milesx4) average 4.5miles per KWh, in the really warm weather 2 weeks back I was well in the 5s

I averaged 3.3 in my 2022 LRSM over the 35k miles I drove it, and could get just over 4 in summer depending on my driving. The later models definitely had improved efficiency.

My EQC was absolute dog egg but the EQE seems to be doing much better and I await a long run to see if I can break the 300 mile barrier!
