Weight of car and low profile tyres I'm guessing. They went through something absurd like 11 tyres in 12 months. Of course you could chalk some of those down to driving or roads or poor luck. My colleague with an EV6 also has had more punctures since ownership than I've had in my driving life, but to be fair they could just be excuses for a free half day off

was going to say not a less weildy sub 5m A6 e-tron avant, but they are 20cm wider.
(all these thing that go out of the window in the emotion of a test drive if you don't drive it home through fasmiliar roads, or park at the supmkt)

The roads have been absolutely terrible the last ~18 months but I don't know of anyone going through 11 tyres in 12 months for it, but some of my acquaintances with heavy cars + low profile tyres have had quite a time of it :s
Not that it makes you immune but like 18" alloys with a nice bit of rubber is just a whole different world in ride comfort and robustness against damage to these silly like 20+ rims with barely any tyre that so many people seem to want to run in this country.

The profile of a tyre is actually percentage of the width, so be careful as going to a narrower 19” wheel with a higher aspect ratio (profile) could be as bad and swapping from a performance tyre to comfort tyre might be the cheaper option. My go to tyres for ride quality are continental premium contact.

Is it though, real world? £16k off the touring on DtD, if you have to compare new (although I'd almost always buy used unless it's a cheap as chips lease deal)
On the work sal sac scheme as well it's a £50 difference between the i5 40 and iX3 40. Not as much as you might think?

I sat in the iX3 and it felt cheap compared to the 5er. Think it was M Sport vs M Sport though, not base comparison to be fair
iX3 appears to be a generation ahead in drivetrain though, the next 5 series will be lovely in a few years I'm guessing

Yeah I have read it’s best to keep the width the same and just use a larger profile for the EV6 on a 19” Rim. I like a Continental but I always use Goodyears as my go to. I get a discount and never had an issue with them.

My Leaf had it's annual "service" today which was a minor this year so off I went to Inverness at 6am. Hard to believe but the A96 has gotten even worse since the last time I used it. The roads around Inverness are appalling with massive potholes, collapsing manhole covers and failed road surfaces!! Anyway the Leaf passed with almost flying colours and the battery is still at 100% which I will gladly show the couple of anti EV neighbours who said the battery will be dead within five years. Well it's five years old now and still as good as new so there!! The one thing that I knew was soon going to be a problem was the rear brake pads which are down to 30% remaining but I told them that when I handed the keys over and that I had new discs and pads ready to be fitted at home. I did the fronts last Thursday before the rain came and hadn't had a chance to do the rears yet due to the weather. They still went and provided a quote, £532.36 just for doing the rears!! What are they made of, platinum? I paid £80.37 for the rear discs and £27.06 for the pads and they are Brembo so there is a hell of a mark up from Nissan. The fronts which are also Brembo only cost me £87.23 for the discs and £49.81 for the pads (twin pot calipers on the front so the pads are huge). That's a grand total of £244.47 to fit Brembo discs and pads front and rear plus thirty minutes per corner to swap the old for the new, quite a saving.
We all know the Leaf doesn't have much of a range, around 140 miles in perfect weather conditions but it's more than enough for me and I love the car to bits. Today the trip to Inverness and back was 124 miles and I took the chance and did it all from the single charge she had overnight. I was getting nervous the last ten or so miles because there are some steep hills to climb but I got home with 12% remaining and chuffed to bits with that. Going to Inverness I averaged 4.30 miles per kWh and 4.17 miles per kWh coming back. That was with climate control on, radio on, lights on and front and rear wipers on as it was chucking it down. I love driving this car!!

So we took the plunge at the weekend & purchased a Citroen E-C4, 4 years old with 37k on the clock. Couldn't justify the Frontera mentioned previously as it was a bit too sparse, the C4 drives quite nice.
Currently granny charging at 2kwh until we can get a charger in about 10 days, I did take it out yesterday & experiment with public charging & my first impressions are it's going to be an utter nightmare. First place I went to on zap maps were all offline as the connectors had been cut off, second place was just powered down, next I tried a 7kw Charger in Tesco & that took about half an hour to add 8 miles. I drove 16 miles away at this point to an Eon 100kw charger which thankfully was online as I ended up with 8 miles range left. Popped into the Tesco across the street & came back out to 68 miles range, I can see public charging being an utter pain in the arse.
