Haha no, although it’s not an unfair assumption.

I do substantially lower the average age on some sites as we tend to avoid the ‘family friendly’ ones where the feral kids usually end up. The OAP’s tend to keep themselves to themselves and it’s fairly peaceful.

We’ll be talking about how many miles per hay bale, cost of saddles and harnesses and whether or not to pick up the poop and sell it as fertiliser to cover base costs of buying a horse vs the cost of shoes/shoe leather…..
 
Car has been to Kia today and a replacement 12v battery fitted. Tests and updates done and ICCU seems to be ok so just a dead 12v.

Had an EV3 as a loan car it was a nice car apart from the constant Bongs and dings all the time. Gave it back with %68 and it was still showing 235m remaining. I can only dream of that kind of range. Lol

I though this review on the BYD assisted driving was thorough ... if you can't get the basics right self driving will arrive after HS2
(the points on undertaking, acceleration on overtake, white line tracking - in the rain ...)


but anyway who wants self driving on their personal car ? I suppose you could go out and have alcohol with your meal, or netflix and chill.

How can you launch a charging network in the UK and have no confirmed locations of chargers? Bit odd no?

The locations of the first UK Flash chargers remain unconfirmed, but BYD has said the nation's first Denza customers will benefit from 18 months of free Flash charging - similar to the free Supercharging offer Tesla gave to early Model S buyers.

Why wouldn't you? 99% of peoples driving is utterly mundane and if I didnt need to be hands on, I'd take it so I could do literally anything else which would fit in the car.

It's not about alcohol, its about time. You can just do something else, like dreaming about buying an EV but not doing it.

Self driving does not appeal to me at all, I enjoy driving & hate being a passenger.

Most of us have nothing better to do while being driven and yes driving can be mundane but it’s super easy to do and hardly a chore. I personally much prefer to be driving than driven.

I don’t even like automatic cruise control and have always found it pointless. Though I think I’m in the minority but I also despise one pedal driving and think it’s a problem looking for a solution. The OPD thing is the biggest reason I don’t like Tesla’s. Their cars have come on a lot since I test drove a Model 3 in 2020 and then 2022 but no regen on the brake pedal was such a bad design choice IMHO.

Its not really a contradiction that FSD is actually something people who enjoy driving really like...

I enjoy 'making progress' in a nice v8.. but when going on a family trip, whether that be a 30 mile journey or a 300 mile journey, I'll auto pilot as much as possible and would love FSD..

Here's a good example from reviewers who love their ICE wagons:

All we are doing is posting personal preferences at this point. We aren’t going to convince either camp to suddenly “see the light”.

I can see why some people like FSD and other driver aids like 360 cameras and blind spot cameras etc. But I don’t use either and if I can I spec my cars without them to save money. My logic is “I have a working neck” and enjoy the act of driving, even for mundane commutes.
