EV general discussion

Thankfully with image hosting ive finally got round to posting my 2023 Italy trip based on the above. Final destination is multistory in Venice (central picture). All this data was from Tronity including the map so was pretty cool. Peages rarely got old in the IPACE either :D

Any questions jpaul is here to answer on my behalf. CMTMB
I remember the photos from this trip at the time! I was in the I-Pace FB group and thought... that looks familiar :D

Guys wee bit of help \ advice please.

Wife has a 2025 Audi q4 etron. I’m looking to change over to an EV as my 2014 3008 is1.5dci is coming close to the end of life.

So am looking something around the same size as the Audi q4 etron. Budget 15-20k. What would people recommend I have been looking at the skoda enjaq. What else should I be looking at. Too much choice atm.

If you think about it, would have cost you the same £80 at MFG for your car lol.
If I did a full charge hah probably but I thought the idea was splash n dash from these things. Anyways, was a good little test but I'll obviously go back to charging at home where it definitely is cheaper than filling up with petrol. :p

Spreadsheet OCD in overdrive, columns are in return, holiday, out. Instead of date order out/holiday/home........... :D :D Heathen...... :D

JP won't have any comment as he would have expected the car to have produced this pricing output including pictures and car commentary and for it to have posted it to OcUK on your behlaf, at least that's what he's waiting for as a necessary feature for when he buys one....

ID4, Ioniq 5, Niro EV, not sure if a bz4x or something falls into budget now. I-Pace if you want the excitement (of having your car in the garage more than on your driveway)

I think, if the Tesla was the only or main car I drove then I would eventually get used to the speedo location. The fact that I'm 50:50 between my Mustang and the Tesla I find quite jarring.

I suspect that makes a big difference, whilst we have another runabout I never use it now we have the Tesla!

You know it's a detailed record when you bother to enter your full home address into a spreadsheet you post online on a public forum where you also post about the premium cars you currently have on the drive :p

TBH like a number of people they've posted enough information and pictures (assuming it was genuinely of them) for anyone to find out where they lived if they really cared, I've probably done the same if anyone was determined enough.

.csv with most recent journey at the top. :p Fixed the second bit, cheers - house number and postcode was wrong anyway.

There's solely 2 things that put me off the Tesla's as the 'go-to' EV. The lack of driver display & buttons (despite everyone saying wah wah it's a none issue, it is an issue, especially with no HUD)
and the way they look. I think they are ugly as ****
I mean the first one can be resolved with £150-200 behind the wheel drivers display that you can fit yourself, ask Alibaba @tamzzy. :D

The other one is just whatever IMHO, we sit in the car not on it and can't see it when we are in the house, so it's pretty irrelevant, for us, not saying you or anyone else just us.

Yeah, whilst the juniper/highland certainly improved the looks, previous gens have faces only a mother could love!

And the sheer number of accessories you can get for the Tesla’s just get what you want, I swore I’d be getting a small dash display to be like every other car in its class, but within two weeks, that idea dissolved and as the rest of the planet finds out, it’s a non issue, but knowing there are so many options to suit all tastes helps..

The main pull for a Tesla is effortless efficiency, cracking software and the slickest interface going.. grok is even proving useful, how it still sets the benchmark in so many ways is pretty damning of most manufacturers disjoint software, with few notable exceptions..

The new VW SSP might be interesting, but only time will tell.
