EV general discussion

As mentioned, it doesn't really matter in terms of costs, but very impressive efficiency all the same. Starting to worsen a little bit now as the weather gets cooler.

Will be very interested to see what I get in the depths of winter.

Works out at 5.08 miles per kWh.

I was getting 3.8 mi/kWh average in my Born 77kWh for the first 7,000 miles. Though I swapped from the EV eco tyres to all seasons and that dropped to 3.6 over the past 5,000 miles.

The rear dome light in my car kept switching on. Took it to Tesla service to have them look at it.

They really make everything so hands off and so painless.

That sounds just like my last issue with Volvo… no I mean Cupra, no wait I mean BMW… or was it Audi.

Better to not have issues in the first place

Everyone with a Tesla seems to have had an issue
To be fair I can't argue against it being a pretty silly issue to happen!

@ICDP I found my experience with Audi slightly more hassle to book and go through.

I do prefer the customer area of Audi more though. Weak refreshment selection today.

Weirdly it depends a lot on the dealer rather than the franchise. The closest Seat/Cupra dealership to me has been very poor. Yet another a bit further out have been excellent. Though their refreshment selection is also poor :D

Round me the JLR refreshments seem the nicest. Had free cans of coke as well as coffee machine

You did have to ring up to book it I though, the horror! And I was there a lot :D

In fairness, they need to be, people are always there having stuff fixed. :p
A family members workplace has a quite large fleet of LR Discos PHEVs, nearly all of them have had replacement batteries at or around 2 years old... speaks volumes! The iPace has similar issues as well I believe.

I've noticed a big decline in the refreshments in a lot of brands in recent years - not that I consumed them much. One of the dealers I use quite a bit used to have a nice selection of good brand drinks and snacks, now just a basic drinks machine and plain biscuits.

To be fair my I-Pace was largely trouble free, no worse than other cars I’ve had.

Probably a stupid question, but for those of you who picked up a new Tesla, did it come fully charged?

Stay tuned for the next episode of "Diddums drip feeds stupid questions in the EV thread".

It won't come fully charged, and the chargers near the pick up points are busy as well for obvious reasons
