Ever belong to a clan/guild?

yeah i was in one in Planetside, we had organisational meetings and everything. it's more about playing with people you know and like and having a good chat on teamspeak along the way. it always surprised me the age range of people who i played with, from 13 - 70.

I was shocked to and happy to hear 45 year olds on warcraft lol never seen that before, and running teamspeak etc etc etc lol my dad cant even turn the pc on. Im not joking about that statement either!

was part of a Wolf ET clan of players off this forum.

was good fun back in the day :D. dont have the time these days though.

shame

I was in a clan called iE/iEngland, but I'm not in it anymore cause it broke up, and I've stopped playing games pretty much.

I used to fly in the 54th Squadron on CFS2, CFS3, IL2, FS2004 and a few FPS games like RTCW too. Now I'm Guild Leader (for the time being) of The Godless, the OcUK Guild Wars guild.

Used to be clan leader of a Clanbase top10 UK CS 1.6 clan many years ago, we also came 2nd in the ECSL premier division.

I also played for my clan/server aka UK2 (hosting company) and had lots of fun against blueyonder and jolt admins.

Nowadays i just play solo on day of defeat source

I used to play Americas Army for [DOD] and I was playing when i joined here, hence my tag on my name.

We were pretty good in TWL with some of the guys being on the TWL staff for a while. I went into hibernation when they started plaing CS, but I'm thinking about coming back out to play WoW with them.

I like how you say clans are too geeky and then say you had to hand in your notice for being a "member" of a "team"

I was joking.

Im a geek at heart. I loved starcraft for the short time I played it, it was hard and i neally always got a whupping but it was great fun

OMG lol, ahh the memories. I started out in UT, I was in a couple of clans there. Then moved to the UT mod Tactical Ops, and joined the clan I am with now, nearly five years ago
Geeky? how so? online gaming is geeky or playing as a team and being a member of a regular team is geeky?

I've been in many TO clans and a few CS ones.

Still technically a member of a clan even though I haven't spoke to anyone in there in about a year :p

Yeah, I even went to i28 to play in a BF2 tournament (which was a joke)

My god some of the people I met were sad gits.

I loved/love clanning though, don't really do it any more as I have a GF that I live with, so if I am on the PC playing games I get in trouble :(

I help run a clan called Clan 10 in BF2 and Call of Duty. Played for a clan call Hired Digital Assassins in COD:UO (Ranked 1st in a couple of CB ladders :))

Played for Team Conflict in BF2 for a while as well.

Used to be in one of the top UT clans (back in the day), and played in Eurocups and things. Had Roger Wilco and headsets and the works. Don't regret a minute of it, as it was great fun.

Used to run the Stormhawks Outfit in Planetside...

Then was a member of the OcUK corporation in EVE, then ran the corporation for a year, then made my own corporation and am now Alliance Leader for Oc-PS (Overclockers Podpilot Services)...

Megalomaniac?

Me?

Nah :p

I play o-game too. Not so intensive but takes more planning.

Hehe, I've been in one tfc clan and one cs clan. TFC being my favourite game of all time (and I must say, I am a kick ass offy ;P).

Definitely a lot to be said for clan gaming. An organized and communicative team game can go on for ages and ages and really grab you. Public servers are basically DM with 3-4 cappers, and it suxors generally.

[TAR] in TFC since 1998 and we met up in real life a fair bit (paintball weekends) and you could not find a better bunch of lads. Young ones on Offy and the older members played Def

Don't spose you need a part time mirc offy? ;P.

Was in a CS1.6 clan, but it was with a few of my real life mates so I don't think thats too geeky really.

Busy playing through Hellgate with one of them at the moment.

First clan I was in was the OCUK UT2004 one.

Then it was an alliance in WOW.

Since then, it been alliances in various online browser based games, like Travian, Universe Wars, and more recently Galactic Oddessy and Evolution 5.

Being able to play at work rocks :D

I still play halo 3 but not with clan mates or sponsorship, got some mates that play on XL games, one of my mates one the 4v4 not so long ago on tv, and another mate was commentator for it... its kinda funny how games are going now compared to say 7-10 years ago lol. wow its been 10 years since I started college..... ouch....

In 9 years of gaming (FPS) I have only ever been in two clans.
