Seriously had these very same problems with 'certain' girls and I found a solution.
Whenever I feel like that I just visualise in my head how small earth is in our star system, then in our galaxy, then about all of the other galaxies etc. Then I think of what that girl is compared to all that; expanding space, points of infinite density, etc.
Sounds odd but you (or well I at-least) think a lot less of them and it allows me to keep up my usual tranquil attitude.
