Ever 'met' a sleeper ?

Ford Orion some years back when I was in my new 325ci. I was not racing, got onto a dual carriageway and went to overtake the Orion when he hit the throttle and made my BMW feel like it was parked! Must have had 500bhp+ to pull away like it did, I mean it was MASSIVELY quicker.

Amazing bit of kit.

Was this green ?

Urban Racing have one that is that sort of specs, sure its the fastest in its class?

I thought those Nova's were supposed to be rockets penski? Even I could beat that one to 60.

Well, not me, becuase I'm crap at stuff like that, but somebody else having stolen my car could.

The best it ran at pod is a 9.8 I think, it did a 10.5 last week, there are about 3-4 other road cars which are running low 10s/9s in the country..
Its a very quick car.

What about all the road cars running low nines, high eights, low eights, high sevens...?

It's got a completely bone-stock engine in it and a full interior :)

Give it a tickle and it'll have 220bhp.

Give it an LET then tickle it and it'll have 300+bhp.

But it has neither of those things, neither do most of the XE Nova's. It's interior also weighs virutally nothing, look at it.

Most of the XE Novas I've seen are at least partially stripped and running 180bhp+

As you should know, FWD cars have trouble launching due to weight transfer...The real fun comes when it's already rolling.

You'd be surprised at the weight. A Chevette interior (even more spartan than that Nova) weighs in at about 75Kg all-up. Call a stripped Nova 750Kg (835ish stock weren't they?) and you're looking at 267bhp/tonne with a 200bhp XE. Certainly enough to shift. Fit a 350bhp LET and it's 467bhp/tonne...For less than five grand.

XEs are cheap to buy, cheap to fit and cheap to tune.

I got battered in the Clio by a 1.8TD Mondeo. Absolutely caned me. God knows what was in it. It had a crappy bodykit on it - in fact as I remember it was just front and back bumpers, it didn't have side skirts, and they were a mis-matched colour too.

Made a right noise when he opened it up though, we came off a roundabout together and I floored it and went to indicate expecting to be 5 car lengths in front when he went whistling past me.

Was grinning like a cheshire cat when I caught up to him at the lights.

That wasn't a sleeper, its a daily occurance in a Mondeo 1.8TD.

2 months after passing my test on motorway pulling on from slip road this heap of al old datsun moves over to let me in. me thinking im fast in my 1.4 floor it to try get ahead :p

Turn to the right what do I see but blue flames coming out the back of this thing and a whistling sound and woosh it was about 10 car lenghts in front of me. he had nitrous. he hit it again and was off. this thing was brown no windows and coverd in rust so I would say thats a sleeper :D

And thats what I mean about people being a bit economical with the truth.

Even if he did have Nitrous, he would have known its pretty expensive and not something you can use more or less all the time. So he wouldn't waste it on a Motorway like that.

I think someone needs to look up the definition of Sleeper becuase a bright yellow Nissan Skyline GT-R is not it :p

thats what i was thinking tbh

Interesting theory. Unfortunately, reality proves otherwise.

Because simply dropping a two litre turbo lump into a nova and chopping the springs a bit is all that there is to it!

With 250 at the wheels its not going to just grip and go is it now, going to wheelspin all over the show.

economical with the truth? where you there? No you where not. Did I see blue flames coming from his exaust..YES did it then shoot off.. YES.

you dont believe me then fair enough but dont dare accuse me of being a liar.
