Ever met anyone famous? Were they like what you expected?

38 and never met anybody famous :(

My brother has met loads - he was an AV tech in the music business in the 80's, and now owns his own company that regularly has him dealing with quite a few famous British celebs.

My dad got to meet Sir Norman Wisdom quite a few times - they have a mutual friend. Apparently, he was the nicest bloke on the planet.

In my distant past i was once a porter and a chap happened to pop into our club store, he looked at me i looked at him and said "can i get anything for you?" he said "yes please my golf clubs" "no worries" said i "can i have your name please?" "err Bruce Willis"

To say i felt very insignificant at that point was an understatement but what a nice chap he was and taller than i would have thought.

Wasn't the blood-stained white vest and shoulder holster a bit of a giveaway?

I'll be honest, i felt like such a numpty not realising who he was but he took it in good humour and gave me a very nice tip. :)

Roy Vasey - Very different from his stand up but always polite to me ive met him laod sof times.
Paul Daniels - met him laods when i was a kid as he lived near me no idea where he lives now and dont remember much about him then.
David Schwimmer - Had a drink with him a few years ago and he was totaly down to earth.
Suggs (madness) - The whole band really were great had a good night with them all had his phone number till my phone was robbed.
All of top gear - tbh was a little dissapointing but they were at the pub so didnt want us lads yobbing round them.
Claire from steps (before she got fat) - spoke to her for about 5 mins she was very nice.
Ronan Keating - What a geniune nice guy

My brothers met dara o brein and said he was awsome, he was at one of there gigs and they got drunk with him
They also met steven segal when they went to one of his gigs and said he was amazingly funny

In 1974 I was catching the London train from Crewe station. It was very crowded; I found myself in a last-minute rush for the one remaining seat beside a tall, good-looking man with collar-length hair, it was the seventies; buckaroo! I looked up and saw it was none other than Peter Purves, it was the height of his Blue Peter career. He said, "You jammy *******" and quick as a flash, I replied, "Don't be blue, Peter!"

Good Partridge quote! lol love it! :D

The most famous people I've ever met are Neil Armstrong, Chuck Yeager and Clint Eastwood. I met Armstrong and Yeager at Oshkosh, and Eastwood, strangely, whilst fishing in Massachusetts. I'm happy to report that all three were what you expect, awe inspiring.

Depends what you call famous but I've had drinks with a few bands who were all super nice;
Maccabees
Sunshine Underground
Frightened Rabbit - They were in the same Travel lodge as me after watching their gig which was slightly surreal.
Bumped into Jessie (the devil) Hughes in Manchester which was just awesome, he's a really funny guy to be fair.

I've Dj'd before Annie Mac so we had a bit of banter (she can't / couldn't mix for toffee though).
Other mentions include Krafty Kuts, Fergie, Yoda oh and I made a cuppa for Beverly Knight at some backstage pass thingy - she's very pleasant to talk to.

I do some work for Gino D'Acampo - swears...a lot (not directed at me)

I met Robert Web (Jezz from Peep Show) 3 years ago just before new years eve in Bideford, Devon. He was in the super market buying wine stood next to me.

He got on the floor of the supermarket and wrote on the back of a reciept for me, giving his signature etc. Was a cool guy :) He even did it infront of all of the tills. Dont think anyone else realised who it was.

When I was 8 I met the '92-'93 Man UTD team at a hotel in Norwich the morning of a game. All very nice, although Steve Bruce thought he'd wind me up and when I asked for his autograph he replied with "Say please"... I repsonded saying that I did say please, he jokingly disagreed and I said "Well, I don't actually want your autograph!" and walked off.

Met Thierry Henri in Santa Monica a few years ago whilst trying to keep a low profile. Seemed nice enough and posed for a photo.

Bumped into John Salako a while back in a club in Kingston. Went over to tell him I was a big fan (as he was playing for the team I support at the time). He refused a drink and bought me one instead. Then a few hours later when his ladyfriend was in to the toilet he came over and did a few shots with me and my mates, and then invited me into VIP to carry on drinking with him and his missus - got me smashed, and when I thought I lost my debit card he gave me a tenner to get a cab home. very good bloke.

Yeah, you win

According to my Mam I met Ked Dodd when I was about 3 and he said to me that he wanted to turn me into one of his Diddy Men. I ran off screaming and he just laughed.
