***EVGA P55 thread***

3D Mark Vantage = P23482
GPU = 20196
CPU = 45872

3D Mark 06 = 23695
SM 2.0 = 9329
SM 3.0 = 11920
CPU = 5881

I am very surprised to see my 3D Mark Vantage score drop?

SkodaMart - When coupe69 said "just make sure you get the 1.65 volt stuff."
I took it that he meant it had to be 1.65v only and not above/below
Proberly not what he meant.
Only I have got 1.35v ram

Just got myself a similar setup.
My Prolimatech Megahalem rev2 just came in.

coupe69, what are your 3D Mark Vantage scores with SLI @ 4.0 GHz?
my 260s are overclocked versions btw.

So whats the deal with SLi on this board? is it 16X 16X or does it run 16X 8X?

Cheers

The EVGA P55 *** has one 16x 2.0 PCI-E lane, therefore if you connect 2 graphics cards in SLI or CrossFire X you are then reduced to 2 x 8x 2.0 PCI-E lanes, however this has little or no effect on performance even with top end graphics cards.
There is also a 4.0 PCI-E slot for a 3rd graphics card for PhysX.
It is one of the limitations of the P55 chipset vs the X58 chipset.

I decided that I was only ever going to run either one very good card or 2 lesser cards, I am never going to have 3 way SLI or CrossFire anyway.

Thanks for the info mate, am considering upgrading my platform but haven't decided to what P55 or X58. I might wait for the EVGA P55 *** 200, i presume thats the one with an NF200 chip and thus more lanes so i could run 16x 16x

As for the difference between 16x 16x and 8x 8x i feel for the future times 16 is probably the way to go. I've never had an SLi or CF setup and would rather like to give it ago, possibly two GTX360's when there released or something

I also prefer the styling of P55's over X58 lol :)

Cheers

I looked at the EVGA P55 *** 200 Classified initially, If you add more than 1 graphics cards all slots are still downgraded to 8x. If you only intend to use one or 2 cards go with the P55 *** however if you intend to go quad or tri sli go with the 200 classified board.
No P55 board runs 16x x2

Thought that heat sink would be a lot tighter than it looks in those pictures can only be the good layout of the board, also two 8-pin connectors !! that thing is chugging some juice. And you will need two 8 pin connectors if you have a bottom hung PSU.

coupe69 - 2 questions, 1st how do you attach a Vantage result like that and 2nd what voltages did you settle on for 4.0GHz?
Great result by the way!

I have got mine stable at 4.0 GHz now, I had to increase the CPU VTT voltage by 0.1v.
I can nearly match you an CPU performance 46618 (I suspect your RAM timings may be tighter than mine?)
However my GPU score is only 20297. I suspect that you have been doing some overclocking with those 260 GTXs ;)

To attatch the Vantage result all I did was print screen, paste and crop in paint then upload to photobucket :)

As for overclocking my GPU's yes you're right I did oc them a little bit ;)

CPU VTT if I remember rightly was 1.350v, and ram timings were 8-8-8-24.

I'm now running at a rather modest 3.6GHz on a daily basis, with far lower voltages all round.

EVGA P55 F.T.W (E657) - A56 BIOS Released!

A56 Updates:

Adds DRAM read/write timings for 32nm CPU's

Improves 32nm 2:8 DRAM ratio overclocking

For Windows XP, Vista or 7 32Bit run AFUWIN32.BAT
For Windows XP, Vista or 7 64Bit run AFUWIN64.BAT.

Make sure you load defaults in BIOS before updating!

Got myself a p55f.t.w - must say it has very nice features - love the error code 7-segment displays that double as a cpu temp readout, the triple bios and onboard power, reset and cmos clear buttons. It also looks very nice, though I wasn't expecting so many LEDs everywhere.

Anyone know if you can take off the 'breathing' red led thing? Looks like it can be disconnected...

Monkey Puzzle, I suspect that the red LED can be disconnected without problem by unplugging it.
What Ram/CPU combo did you go for?
