EVGA UK RMA centre announced

Can I ask how long it usually takes for a card to be shipped out once the old card is received?

Mine has been stuck on 'Preparing to Ship Product' since thursday (RMA:543216001827)

Hi Fish

I have asked the team and will endeavour to come back to you tomorrow as Germany are about to close for Monday.

Ben

OK so two questions about the step-up program:
- the EVGA prices are all in Euros. I converted my £ purchase price (Amazon) into Euros using google, is that what I was supposed to do?
- where will I have to ship to, is it a UK address?

Thanks!

buy EVGA card
register EVGA card within 10 days (I think)
87 days later EVGA release a better card than you originally bought
start step up program
pay difference between old card and super duper new one
send in old card
get super duper new card

Does this mean I can step up my SC to a Classified as soon as they are available?

Cheers.

Hi PinkPig

Yes, upon registration you should have uploaded your invoice to EVGA thus we have your purchase price. You will be sent a total amount in difference to pay for step up.
For return of the old unit you can return to the UK RMA centre this is correct. The new one will ship out from our European RMA base in Germany.

At the moment we are in a queuing system on GTX1080 as you must imagine the demand is very high but as long as you lock in your request even if you pass 90 days since purchase you stay in the queue until your product is ready.

Thanks
Ben

Hi Matty

We do not always release all cards into the step up programme, usually only 1-2 per GPU otherwise it gets far too complicated. The basis behind it is usually for people upgrading from old generation to new generation IE GTX980Ti - GTX1080.

Here is the current list of step up cards in the program -

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti GAMING ACX 2.0+ (06G-P4-4991-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+ (04G-P4-3975-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 950 GAMING (02G-P4-1952-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION (08G-P4-6180-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 (08G-P4-6181-KR)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 (08G-P4-5180-KR)

Thanks
Ben

Makes sense! Cheers for the reply Ben.

Hi Ben ,

New Overclockers user here.

Ben , I wonder if you could help me please.

I am having zero luck with EVGA UK technical support RMA'ing my card. Yes my card IS under warrenty. Yes my card IS registered.

I spoke to an incredibly rude person called Markus Cheesefarmer who was rude and unhelpful all whilst 'giggling' under his breath when I asked to speak to his superior as I was unhappy with his attitude he did nothing but laugh and claim to be the man in charge. Frankly his attitude was extremely un-professional.

I would like to check the email address name he has given me for 'Joe Earwin' is [email protected].

I would appreciate some help in this matter as I am despite what I have read online to the contrary not getting any help from EVGA in this matter. I am happy to PM you my purchase order details to prove my card was under warrenty when the fault occurred. I purchased from ************ in Feb of last year.

Apologies for having to bring this up on a public forum I am just wanting to get my faulty graphics card problem resolved.

Thank you for your time.

I am sorry to hear of this issue, was the card purchased from us?

Having read this I have just spoken to my contact at EVGA technical support and there is no member of staff there called Markus Cheesefarmer so I am told.

Just a quickie. It's easy to criticise company's when they make a mess of things, well this is the opposite. EVGA are having a few supply issues with the standard acx 3.0 1080gtx, so they've upgrade my step-up to a SC. well played EVGA. Well played.

Ben, I've just got an RMA label for my step-up and it's going to Germany - is it possible to send to the UK RMA centre instead? Would rather not pay for shipping/insurance abroad if I don't have to.

I just got the same. I emailed Ben and got an auto-response saying he's on holiday, so I emailed EVGA support and they said UK Step Ups get sent to Germany, only RMAs get sent to a UK address. I hope that was accurate as I've just posted mine off to Germany and it would have been cheaper (and faster) to send to UK.

Hi Ben,

Any chance of news on the step up program, I've been in queue according to the us site for a long time now. I did the step up almost immediately it became available.

Is there a way I can get an update?

Cheers

Al

I've never really understood the concept of the step up programme. Surely if someone is buying a new gpu they will have done a bit of research and will know if there is a new card coming out within 90 days? Maybe I'm just not seeing the usefulness of it.

Wish I could step up my 980ti to a 1080, had it for just over 13 months now.

I used it to get my computer up and running with the GTX780 6GB's as the rumour for the 980's was they would be longer away than I wanted to wait as well as not much of an upgrade in comparison or that it would cost considerably more if it was.

So after they landed and price was good with a very obvious performance increase the 90 days step-up was very handy as all it cost me was postage £15 as the price was the same for both cards.

Only handy under certain circumstances but it's better than not at all.
