A few people on ADSL Guide seem to think that Evolution DSL are pretty sweet atm.

8-Mbit ADSL Max for £24.99
No restrictions or throttling
1 month contract

Our Pipex expires in 1 month, and i'm thinking of signing up with Evolution. So has anybody heard anything good/bad? :)

It certainly is getting pimped plenty on AG.

£24.99 buys you about 15GB/month's worth of Central bandwidth (using the crappy £1/GB approximation), so think how long the "unlimited" is going to last if the uber heavy crew pick up on it.
They're definitely a reseller, but it's not clear who they're reselling - this post thinks either Enta (more good) or NetServices (bad).

I'd be interested in how much of a pain they make it to get a MAC as well.

I emailed asking how the hell they expected to stay in business:

"I appreciate your concerns over the unlimited nature of our ADSL Max product, however I can assure you that we have everything under control when it comes to bandwidth. We are partnered with a large business to business ISP, which shares two out of our three directors. They shift huge volumes of data every day from their tier 2 IP network in London Docklands and, due to huge economies of scale, are able to provide the amount of bandwidth we will require to continue our unlimited service into the foreseeable future."

I'll probably give them a go for a bit. As you say, it's only a monthly contract.

If its netservices don't risk it. I had them, through e7 before i moved to Bully...They refused to give MAC codes and i got 5k on a 2mbit connection nearly 24/7.

I actually looked at their site today as I'm going to move from Pipex.
It's worth a punt I think.

That isn't going to deal with the few millions a year in Central costs though.

I got an email back from Evolution. I mentioned how I'd like unlimited access to newsgroups, and they assured me that their service would not restrict me in any way..

Our phone line is activated at the new flat on March 31st, so think i'll give Evolution DSL a punt the day after :p

Im migrating from F2S on fri to the max deal at evolution and will let u know how it goes :) fingers crossed it goes smoothly!

signed up for the office deal tonight Up to 8192kbps download
Up to 832kbps upload

just hope all this talk of unlimited lasts

I'm with them at the moment, Kidderminster is currently limited to 2mb but their service seems fast. I haven't tried online gaming yet to check ping times, but general browsing seems fine while downloading at 220isk k/sec.

So far there also hasn't been too much of the evening slowdown. I'm happy, it was a risk but with a one month contract I can soon clear off to another lot like Lumison :)

Ok our ADSL is now live! Only turned on on Tuesday so they still may tinker with it, but atm i'm downloading off GigaNews at an average of 675kb/s!

They said i'd be able to get around 6.5Mbits on the signup screen, and I guess i'm getting around 6Mbit at the moment.
So pretty sweet so far :D

Haven't tried any online gaming or anything, anyone want me to ping anything? :p

CoD2 Pings etc.
Whore your bandwidth, find out if it's truely uncapped :D

Well I left a few test downloads going last night..

715K/s average speed, downloaded around 13Gb in around 5 hours. It's too fast now :D

im with evolution dsl, synced at 8128kbps but still stuck at 2mb speeds (getting a constant 250000 B/s). have to wait for that to go up before testing properly. an my router was off when i migrated in, ohh well, ill just have to be patient.

anyone tried newshostings on evolution?

EDIT: see Here

That's what i've been using! Average speed of 715K/s overnight on Giganews.
Evolution doesn't have its own newsgroups.

not quite, different provider. good to see that evolution are capable of those speeds though (for now at least)

EDIT: what about during the day and at peak times?
