Evolution FQ440

Cost me £900 on an exhaust and £500 on remap etc to get me to over 400/400 on my X and Im selling mine for a lot less than 50k

Because it's worth less than 50k?
No offence and all :)

Because at the end of the day both cars are what, roughly 1.5/2 tonnes of steel+plastic+aluminium, how they can that be worth 50K, we both know why it is. It's academic, it's the basics of commerce.

1.536 .

The shells where all made at the same time for the 08-13 X run of cars and where just picked out when ordered so it wouldn't surprise me if they held these lot back.

From what I have seen as well is that all 40 sold within 1 hour of going on sale

A Sierra RS500 was £19000 in 1987, anyone want to guess what that would be in today's money? ;)

Limited run specials of already nutty cars have always been expensive, it's not a new thing.

Exclusivity and resale value obviously?

Well those in the 'know' don't tend to buy these second hand as they are not good value for money. Take the VIII FQ400 - was a notoriously difficult car to shift because people wanted a big part of the £40k+ they paid for it, trouble is that there were niggles with it over the 'lesser models' such as a poor turbo choice.

The only model I can think that bucked the exclusivity trend was the VI TME which even today command well over £10k for a 14 year old car.

Fords do limited run special editions much better than Mitsubishi! (And that coming from a Mitsubishi fanboy).

I don't think anyone is disputing that, but this is not THAT far apart from a normal evo. You could easily add most of the parts yourself. The RS500 is quite a bit different from the standard 3dr Sierra Cosworth, never mind the commoner garden Sierra.

Ridiculous money, 40k at best, but expected for a type of car that will probably be never made again so an instant future classic and somewhat marks an end of an era.

Still could be worse, if it had a German badge it would be selling for double the price and the sheep will be flocking to say how its worth the price tag.

True - a new BMW M3 GTS cost £120k in 2010 including taxes and wasn't that much different to a standard M3.

Are these upgraded Evo's standard cars with the parts retro fitted by the dealer?
