Evoque arrived :)

Would look better with the steering wheel on the correct.side :)

Seriously, I am.not a fan of.the evoque but that does look nice, what sort.of view do you have from the rear window?

personally, i'd have gone for a regular range rover and wouldn't have gotten a gtr in red but black or silver (i assume they do them in silver). but props OP, you're obviously doing something right and certainly own some top stuff.

But REDZILLA is such a good private plate. :D

That's the beauty of choice and opinion :). My parents in the past 10 years have probably had 8 or 9 full size/sport superchargeds. I can tell you my wife has no need for anything that large or powerful and to be honest the RR is hardly a pretty car is it? The Evoque has far more presence.

As for the GTR, black is the most common colour over here and I personally find the grey boring on the car. Silver is a $3k option that is impossible to paint match if it gets scratched and as such isnt particularly desirable. I'm not paying $3k for a generic colour!

I quite like it, looks purposeful and the interior looks nice, how's the quality of the build and fit and finish though?

I'd take a Mud-covered Defender with no air con to the shops over any chrome covered Soccer mum car

An Evoque isn't a soccer mum car in my eyes. Firstly it's a 3 door, not very practical for the little ones jumping in and out. Second it has sporty looks yet is still extremely luxurious. You can take this to the nearest Walmart and stock up, or take it to a business meeting and look the part, that's what it's for.

Also you wouldn't last a day in a defender with no air-con in the peak seasons over in Florida. I was there last April and temps were low 30's, not exactly scorching but the humidity made us run for the car to cool down. This was also the only time I didn't mind going shopping as it was cooler than being outside.

Not to mention the fact that the Defender is a very poor 'car' ...a very good machine for climbing mountains, forging streams and slogging down thick muddy tracks through dark and foreboding forests ...but as a road car ...it's crap. The Evoque is apparently rather good and in a totally different league to a Defender. They really aren't at all comparable, you would buy them for completley different reasons.

Looks lovely.

I'm in one tonight, really liking it so far. Only averaging 35mpg (indicated) but it looks like it'll do 40mpg without too much trouble. Not fantastically impressed with the kickdown on the box but I'll give it some slack until I've put a few more miles on it. Steering assistance varies at lower speeds as well which is a little unsettling, amongst a few other minor issues. Very impressive bit of kit though.

Done 12,000 miles this test car and there's no odd noises, but one of the speakers is blown. Probably not JLR's fault though :p

I normally hate the looks of 4x4's but i certainly wouldnt say no to one of these. Gorgeous things in my opinion.

Yeah there are better cars than 206's but it was cheap and like I said, it ticked all the boxes at the time, looking back now I may have bought something else, stop dragging out your hatred for me and just accept I have a different opinion. I have driven a Range Rover Sport, and yeah its comfy but convenient? No, its like trying to park a shed on wheels.

Lol you basically just got made to look really really stupid, it wasn't a rant. I would ban myself if my posting was shown up to be as bad as yours just was out of shame.

I'd buy the Hummer cuz I'd be gangster more......if I was buying one, which I'm not......but if I was deffo a Hummer cuz thems proppa n stuff. Also, Defender is where it's at....i'd buy one of them if it was me.....yea I've driven them all, I'd go off road.....well I might go up a kerb, but it's the same.

Word.
