Exclusive DLC for 360 version of GTA4 to be as big as vice city and san andreas

Well they desperately need to do something.

How so? They are already selling more ps3s every week in Europe, USA and Japan than 360's. :D

I wonder if this "what the DLC on the 360 will be" game will go on till August when it is released. This amount of speculation can only lead to disappointment :)

I can never understand why people have such hate for Microsoft/Sony!!

Most of them are kids/students or unemployed people. An even larger amount are hypocrites (who probably use MS or Sony stuff elsewhere), and a smaller percentage like to think they have principles but would work for either company at the drop of a hat.

I don't like Windows and their business software is a PITA too, that's why i don't :)

And before you say 'but you will have windows on your home PC', i use a mac at home. :)

If it was that significant they would release it as a new game and make hundreds of millions from it, not accept a paultry $50m from Microsoft.

You'll be lucky to get a new street or two nevermind a new city let alone one San Andreas sized, heck GTA4 isn't even San Andreas sized and that's been in development years...

But once the engine has been designed, the cars/people/buildings etc have been skinned then it is just a case of a level designer making a new city, then people testing it.

It could be a full city, you have to remember that it isn't just $50million but from what I have seen $50million up-front - this is a HUGE thing in business.

360 has this exclusive, PS3 doesnt

End of discussion - if you love GTA that much, you will buy it to play the 360 version

Simple really, you may hate the console, but if you are a real game franchise fan - you will not want to miss out on the DLC extra' because that expands on the story that we will all be playing in GTAIV

Hating microsoft or moaning that a 360 is too load, is a pathetic excuse for missing out on yet more gaming greatness

If you have a PC, do you not buy a game because it reportedly runs better on a Nvidia card over an ATI card....?

As a gamer, the DLC should be looked on as a must buy IF you have access to a 360 and the funds available.

But lets not forget, the download wont be much more than a gig IMO. There is no way MS will allow a DL of 2-3 gig out on live as DLC. The bandwidth costs would be ridiculous, add to that, all the users would need that much free of their 13 gig hard discs. The game struggles to fit on DVD9 so an Island, soundtrack, cut scenes etc etc will take up a lot of space.

I honestly dunno what to expect. It'll be like HL2, with Ep 1 and Ep2

The old Xbox games you can download form Live are around 4gig so I dont think they will see size as a problem.

Maybe even some more leverage into people getting 120gb drives

Real time rendered cutscenes hardly take up any space and textures, music, sound clips etc will mostly be taken from the disc, so again taking up no space.

I would want more music, all the voice acting for the cut scenes will need to have the sound etc. I think it would be surprising how much all this could take up. And that is assuming they use real time to render the cut scenes, which i don't think they will do. Don't many devs render them in engine, then add some spit and polish and leave them as video files. I am sure that's how insomniac do it.

Out of interest how much did the shimmering Isles take up? and how much content did that give?

Sony don't need to waste money on DLC just to make more people buy their consoles.

I'm glad MS spent another £50m.. it's a waste tbh.. I certainly won't be going for a 360. Even though its out on both PS3 and 360 it's only advertised for the 360. why waste money? I'm still going to get it on PS3.

MS are wasting there money trying to change my mind hahaaaaa

Your loss. That simple.
You're just being foolish.

I'll be picking up a 360 next week so it obviously isnt a waste of time or money advertising it.

They have always used game engine rendered cutscenes in previous GTA's so I would imagine they will in this one too. It's a way of making sure that your character is still wearing the same clothes etc when in the cutscene.
