Yet another gain for Labour.

I'm gonna call it a night now, but I'll be keeping all my fingers crossed in my sleep. I hope you night owls all enjoy watching it unfold!

Shadow Chancellor John McDonell just been crossing swords with Anne Widdicome and Paxman on C4. Came across very well surprisingly (to me, at least). The panel were also taking seriously the possibility that he might be actual Chancellor next week. Very assured responses from him. I was quite impressed.

I've seen McDonell speak at many Trade Union conferences (and spoken/debated to/with him in person on numerous occasions) and I've always been impressed by him.

Like Corbyn, the press seem to treat him very unfairly. It's almost like they know he's intelligent and a threat to the Tories so they attack even harder.

An indication of how messed up our fptp voting system is:

SNP has 185,749 votes and 8 seats yet, lib dems have 213,725 and 0 seats. It has to be the most undemocratic system of voting ever devised, it simply does not reflect the electorate.
