Explain to me why Kasabian aren't the worst band..

Finally someone gets it! I'm always whinged at for not putting in my opinion after every bloody thing.

Happens time and time again, it's like hitting your head against a brickwall. Although it does make occasional trolling quite amusing!

Lyrics don't really mean anything as they can be open to interpretation. Have a look at these lyrics, which suck seriously hard taken out of the songs context:
radiohead-airbag said:
In the next world war
In a jackknifed juggernaut
I am born again

In the neon sign
Scrolling up and down
I am born again

In an interstellar burst
I am back to save the universe

In a deep deep sleep of the innocent
I am born again

In a fast german car
I'm amazed that I survived
An airbag saved my life

In an interstellar burst
I am back to save the universe

In an interstellar burst
I am back to save the universe

Trust me, you're not the only one. Drives me up the wall - so much so that for years I used "imo" as a punctuation mark on forums just to avoid the moaning

......and back on topic, the only reason I can't say why Kasabian aren't the worst band in the world is because there's loads of rap, jazz, country and boy-bands out there who are far higher up my list than they are :D

...and that is exactly how it should be. Radiohead went rubbish right after the Bends, and have only been worse since.

I think you're one of the music unmusical people I've ever met [in an online sense] :) Which each post on this board you give further evidence of someone with no interest in anything inventive or original.

But horses for courses and all that.

NB: This is not a personal attack :p

... Radiohead are original in the mainstream maybe, but similar experimental dissonance has been done before. Although I guess thats me being pedant so feel free to overlook my comment.

It has, but my point was that what Radiohead did - or evolved into - was wildly different from their Pablo Honey days and showed great talent, openmindedness and vision. It's not about whether what they did had been done before.

Wow. Lumping jazz in with country and boy-bands. How ridiculous.

Funny that, makes no sense at all that ;)

I disagree that they are inventive, original they may be. No-one has made that crap before :)

Aren't being original and inventive very similar?

I attribute inventive to innovation, invention, positives. Original is a broader term that simply means not done before. You could perhaps say that no-one has made the 'music' that Radiohead are making now before, but I wouldn't say that is a good thing.

Haha. I don't really like The Kaiser Chiefs but Ruby is actually a really good song IN MY OPINION. You like the Kings of Leon, I'm not too fond of them. They're not that great IN MY OPINION. You think Paulo Nuttini sings like he's had a stroke.. His voice is fantastic IN MY OPINION.

You wonder what's wrong with the world because people have a different musical taste to yourself?

Is this post your opinion or are you stating a fact? I can't really tell.

I didn't start this tread to troll the fans of Kasabian, I genuinely wanted to know what the big deal was. I can appreciate that they have released 'Anthems', and people enjoy going 'AAAAAAAAH AAAH AHHHH AAAAAAH' but honestly people are aware they're rubbish, surely? Please restore my faith in society.

Has music really become this. No originality, no charisma (but plenty of unjustified arrogance), no artistic merit. I can appreciate the need for inane songs, but there were literally thousands of people there, and I feel like I've been left out of a huge joke.

Regarding 'opinion'; yes we're all aware that people enjoy different things, but surely there is such a thing as bad music, of which I think this is. It's funny that If I were to say 'Is 'xyz' band the worst music in the world' (xyz being 'the cheeky girls', 'Mr Blobby', 'Bob The Builder' et al) I bet the answer would be a resounding yes, but because Kasabian are billed as the 'next big thing' by NME or whatever, people will like the music irrespective of the actual merit. Spoon fed music, IN MY OPINION ?!?!?!!!?!!11.
