Exposing Heightism

This, in lots of people's eyes, isn't a good look - he's like her pet or something:

I guess having lots of money might allow some women to overlook certain shortcomings.

I don't think anyone is arguing that a tall woman with a short guy looks a bit silly, but so does a tall guy with a short girl.

Looks like he's taken his toddler for a day out.

Seems like 99.9% of forum members are taller than me. Sure, life was tough...at school. Since college never had any problems with anyone, and now happily married. Some people just like to make it seem that what you see = the most important thing in the world.

Nah... that's not the same at all and is taking it to the extreme - Bernie is a bit above the shoulder height of his partner... top of his head is about where her chin is... if you were to reverse that an put a woman at just above her male partner's shoulder height it wouldn't look silly... here is one slightly below the bloke's shoulder height even:

the photo you've posted is of a girl at the height of the bloke's chest....

But generally men are taller than women, so the difference will be larger. It's not a tall guy and a short girl if the guy is only 5-6 inches taller; that's normal.

well yes and that's why the trend is towards taller guys.... thus the short guy/tall women is seen by lots of people as being abnormal

I read some crappy study that suggested woman like a guy to be 6 inches taller, while men prefer woman to be 3 inches smaller. So yeah, basically both sexes agree, though I still think woman suck at judging height.

Either way given the average height between men and woman will fall within that range, most people have a resonable amount of partners to choose from.

I've never heard of this being a problem, I just kind of assumed it didn't matter. Position of privilege, I guess; I'm 6'4".

*obvious bragging*

I haven't had much height discrimination at all (not even really jokes, which is good because I do tend to get upset if people call it out in a degrading way - I can't help my genetics!).

What I've found from looking at this kind of stuff is that it is the smaller women who tend to have the stupid '6ft rule'. Probably to make up for their own lack of height? Dunno. Anyway, it seems the taller women are the ones who are less likely to care about dating the shorter men (but probably because they tower over most anyway). I've known a few really tall women all around 6ft and none of them gave a crap about how tall a guy was.

I don't mind dating the 6ft girls either, why should I let it bother me? Plus they got dem legs. (but then again I'm not some testosterone fuelled alpha man - being a beta can be fun! :D)

For the record, I'm 5ft 5/6

In fairness, you're hardly short short. You're just a tiny bit below average, nothing I'd notice.

Personally this whole thing is blown out of context. You get decent people and you get none decent people. Truthfully, anyone shallow enough to make a deal about height is someone that you wouldn't want to be with anyway.

I'm 35cm taller than my gf, and its no issue to me tbh.

Anything over 6'2" is just pointlessly tall ;)

Serious question though; have you ever been comfortable in any sort of public transport? I have ridiculously short legs, yet even I find train seats cramped.

I swear public transport has been designed for midgets. I cannot sit down on a bus or train without sitting diagonally (thereby taking up two seats), or specifically choosing a seat with more legroom (which are usually taken). I also feel sorry for anyone sitting behind me when I'm driving, because I have to put the seat all the way back.

So it's not all fun and games for the lanky legion. :p

as women joke when they see a women going down, "he must have a big penis"...

Grammatically that reads different from what you actually meant! :D

As for the OP: Shock, horror! Shallow people exist, and Twitter et al has given them a soap box to mouth off on. Alas they don't realise that this soap box allows more intellectually gifted people to take the **** out of them.

Average height master race here. As is my god given right I despise all people either taller or shorter than myself.

Tall people cant drive Ferraris, I mourn for your loss :p

The only other time, tall was bad is when I watched the a Docu on East German fighter pilot school.
They almost immediately threw out tall guys for having their heart further from their heads excludes them from activities with high G Force and makes them far weaker.
This is why Tom cruise's finest hour was Top Gun no doubt
