It's not the test, it's the cost I'm more worried about. What I really wanted to do was have it checked out first bu65t I was just told to take an eye test. I'm not on benefits so can't have it done on th NHS so it'll have to be done private. It's the cost of the glasses I'm worried about
Get the prescription and buy the glasses online.
What Firestar_3x said, and the test itself should cost around £20-25 (unless your going to Harley street or something)
If you choose to buy glasses at the place that does the test they normal do glasses pretty cheap, Specsavers glasses typically start at the £20 mark.
Without wishing to turn this into a medical thread is this a sudden deterioration in vision?Blurred vision in left eye for some reason.
If you can still read this you're doing fineI've got an URGENTLY needed eye test on Saturday morning.
Anybody got any advice?
I know, you already said. For people on benefits it's free (afaik), for you if it was with someone like Specsavers it would cost around £20-25.I'm not on benefits
I’d third this. If it is a sudden issue, then don’t wait. Several things can cause sudden vision issues, including various medications.Yeah. Id be more thinking A&E. Than waiting until saturday
You don't have to buy glasses when you get an eye test, and if it's a sudden change the chances are good the optician won't let you get a new pair until they know why it's changed as they'll want to make sure any new prescription is correct (and if it's changed because you've got an infection/something that can be treated with a quick course of eye drops you may not need new glasses). It's not the test, it's the cost I'm more worried about.
