Eye test coming up

Hope your cataract gets sorted quickly.
In my most recent experience with MRI (Last year) They probabbly recognise myu name from y numerous visits there last year (the mysterious pains in my left side which they just fobbed me off with painkillers or told me there wasn't anything unusual) and I'm still waiting to hear from them about my Hernia (Discovered after an urgent visit to the doctors in the same building[formerly Trafford Library and community centre), s I'll probabbly get the samer lack of interest (but at least Wythenshawe hospital got to the bottom of my mysterious pains),
Come on MRI DORT IT OUT!! I'M NOT PAYING TAX SO YOR BOSSES CAN WASTE IT ON POINTLESS THINGS LIKE DIVERSITY AND MULTI-GENDER AWARENESS MANAGEMENT INITIATIVE OR YOUR BOSSES CAN DISCUSS GENDER AWARENESS ISSUES in courses abroad.

Yes 100% do this by making a thread in GD and uploading it and asking for one of the PS whizzes to make the edits for you. Lots of helpful people will get some really good results for you.
I can do it myself using:
Paintshop pro
Particle shop
Xara Photo and Graphic Designer
Affinity Photo
Affinity Designe

Thanks for the offers but I can do it myself and I only want to do it for a bit of fun.
I did have photoshop elements but I got a message on the splash screen telining me to download a free thirty day trial (I'd already bought a key for it) and that and the Adobe model put me off it it.. I've got nothing against PS, just the way Adobe have gone about things and it's driven professional users away.

The titles in the bold italics're all from legit publishers and I reccomend giving them a shot (Particle Shop's also compatible with Photoshotp).
Pity I can't can't use it to remove the cataract in my left eye (discovered during the eyetest) and removing the blur effect in my left eye which was caused by the cataract.

The above gave me an idea for a science fiction/horror storry that'd be good in The Black Mirror/Twilight Zone involving photo editing software...

I finally got my new glasses and have better def vision (but I'd have much rather preferred Cyberpunk 2077 style enhancements). But I have a question- I have two pairs (one for every day use) and one for reading but which ones're better for photo editing/messing about with graphic design software?

PC or tablet and how far do you sit from the screen? I need distance and reading glasses but due to age and astigmatism, I find my PC screen is in the middle ground so tend to limit my time and not wear anything at the mo.

You might need to just see what is most comfortable and least tiring for your eyes and remember to take regular breaks.

The thought of me wearing glasses gave me an idea;-
Just supposing I get a photo of me wearing them, put the photo in photop editing software and change the colour of the lenses...
Just to say - the glasses will not do much for your cataract - you will need that removed at some point.

I had a very rapid central cataract appear a couple of years ago (they thought due to eye damage) and literally couldnt see a thing out of it. Totally fine once it was removed.

Sorry to necro an old thread but thought I'd stick it in here rather than creating a new thread. So my glasses broke yesterday, and I found an old pair which I stood on 5 years ago which bent them out of shape.

So with nothing to lose I tried to bend them back into shape here are the results...

Do they look ok to you?

Insuring glasses against damage/loss on home insurance would be useful ...
I've sat on one pair, and another pair survived the washing machine, on the fill process before I realised they been bundled in the dirty duvet cover,

frames seem less resilient than the lenses, but I couldn't get identical frames for a lense transplant

My god did you try to bend them back into shape with a pneumatic crusher while they were still attached to your face?

would like to see the monopoly of specsavers diminished , with more state price control/services, similar to the absence of NHS dentists,
relations experiences of specsavers are that they don't offer good quality/value lenses (or good hearing aid expertise) - better system in France.

Anybody got any advice?

Yes, study these before you go*

Keep your eyes open

Howard! It's Bateman, Patrick Bateman. You're my lawyer so I think you should know I've killed a lot of people. Some escort girls in an apartment uptown... uh... some homeless people, maybe five or ten. Uh... Some NYU girl I met in Central Park, I left her in a parking lot behind some donut shop. I killed Bethany, my old girlfriend, with a nailgun and... some man, some old ****** with a dog. Last week I killed another girl... with a chainsaw... I had to, she almost got away. And there... was someone else there I don't remember, maybe a model, but sh- she's dead, too. And, uh- PAUL ALLEN! I killed Paul Allen with an axe! In the face! His body is dissolving in a bathtub in Hell's Kitchen! I don't want to leave anything out here — I guess I've killed maybe... 20 people... maybe 40! Uh-huh huh- I have uh... tapes of a lot of it. Some of the girls have seen the tapes — I even... I ate some of their brains and I tried to cook a little. Tonight, I uh- just had to kill a lot of people! And I'm not sure I'm gonna get away with it... this time. I mean... I mean I guess I'm a pretty sick guy. So, if you get back tomorrow, I may show up at Harry's Bar. So, you know, keep your eyes OPEN. Okay, bye.

not too shoddy

Specsavers has shrugged off the effects of coronavirus and inflationary pressures stoked by war in Ukraine to generate record sales.

Turnover grew by nearly 25 per cent to £3.4 billion in the 12 months to the end of February this year. Profits climbed to £446 million.

Its workforce also increased by more than 1,600, with the group employing in excess of 35,740 across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Canada

I got mine from spec savers back in 2009, they are spec savers OSIRIS designer brand. I can still read a number plate from 20 meters with them. They’re a bit out of date now, still got the other pair which I got at the same time but they’re a bit loose and easily fall off.
