F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Demo OUT N ABOUT

I have tried "Widescreen" "0" to make it full screen on a 4.3 monitor
with no luck. I hate the wide screen it uses and thats a deal breaker for me.

Maybe they'll fix it with a patch.

PC GAMER not that impressed, only gave it 78%, said this about it :-

It's solid, shooty, slightly scary.
It's not really scary, consistent enough, particularly clever.

PC ZONE gave it 80% and said :-

What it adds - the more capacious level design, the daylight, the mech bits, the cover system - doesn't amount to much more than a garnish of new ideas on an old chicken salad of a game. But as I said, the magic of F.E.A.R. is certainly in position. That basic pleasure of time slowing, of watching a death ballet unfold as glass shatters, masonry crumbles and bodies cartwheel with morbid elegance - it's all intact, and it's as incredible to behold as ever.

Looks like games are starting to force us to go widescreen? Im still using a 5:4 19" purly cos my system will last longer inbetween upgrades, like my 1 year old 3870 still runs everything fine on my 19"

I dont really wanna go widescreen though as it mean buying a LCD monitor. I still use my CRT, space isnt a problem so i dont wanna have to downgrade to an LCD

Why would it be a downgrade getting a TFT? it would be a downgrade if we were a few years in the past but not today.

I for one love Fear 2, man the school bit and the broken up theater part scared the **** outa me.

2560x1600 and runs great :).

Man I swear though that one scene in that broken theater, I looked away from my monitor and looked back to see that scene and freaking nearly flew of my chair  :D

I was doing a spring-clean the other day and came across my old CRT and decided to connect it as a comparison. It was very poor compared to my LCD in terms of image quality and 4:3 just looks so wrong now.

It is disappointing to see the rather average reviews that are coming out. I say average as scores have become so over inflated anything below 85 appears to be average. I am going to wait to see if the pausing issue has been sorted out before buying.

Ran it on my 23" Samsung at 2048x1148 and had no borders, filled the screen perfectly and ran very smooth even with full details - looked good but not sure I'd buy it.

Gamespot rated it 9.1 and IGN gave it 8.5 eurogamer is not the best review site out their ign and gamespot are better for reviews but...... its all down to personal opinion a review is just a review does not mean your not allowed to like the game.

The demo i played on the ps3 i though it was good and i cannot wait to play it on my new pc system i am building.
