F1 2009 Season discussion/development thread

Rear wing looks odd being that small.

Didn't realise you work at Red Bull nuts, whats your job title? If there's a raffle for pit passes i'll happily buy some tickets ;) haha

comparing to last year the rear wing looks way out of place on an F1 car but the more i look at it the more it seems less odd. im sure by the end of the first race they will look like normal.

I am right in thinking that the front wing will be driver adjustable?
*edit* sigh, had I read the article link above I would have know that answer, doh!

Direct translations for anyone interested, key word, direct lol (therefore will need some common sense):

computer design of the current rb4. remarkably: the many develop draft deflectors and mini wing. they are omitted 2009

Tail wing: it is high and more narrowly. the upper flap locks with the shark fish fin

construct: fire-places and air deflector panels are forbidden. therefore the car reacts less susceptibly to air eddies of the preceding endorser

front wing: more deeply and more broadly than 2008. besides the driver of the cockpit from exterior can adjust flaps for more or less abtried

Image blocked at work mate,is it hosted at imageshack?

R&D/Production Autoclave Programmer basically write programs for material cures and chassis spec cures.

Means bugger all to me, but cool :)

I imagine these are industrial sized temperature and pressure controlled machines, they're used to help process the materials I believe to a high standard.

In medicinal purposes they're used on a smaller scale for sterilization.

So you're effectively Red Bull's resident housewife, who programmes the oven to come on automatically when everyone's out? :p;)

Incidentaly, I've been working in Bow Brickhill for a few months now, and have only just clocked the Red Bull HQ off the roundabout near the station - it's cool to see where it all goes on - name to a place 'n all! I'd give an awful lot to have a job with an F1 team.......

i thought they going to use slicks ? or he has inters on ?

edit : nvm

They will be using slicks in 2009. If you look at the computer generated model screen-shots that Hequn posted, you will notice the 2009 car is using slick tyres, while the 2008 model is using grooved tyres.

As was mentioned earlier, apparently, in the promotional shots, for whatever reason, they prefer to use wet/grooved tyres.

Yes but dinner in this case can cost £100,000 a time!
