The side profile of the Caterham hides the step in the nose behind the front wheel, so could be the same for the McLaren?

And it doesn't look any lower than a lot of the cars ran in 2009, before Red Bull educated everyone to the benefits of high noses. It's a lot higher than the tip of the Brawn, for example.
 
You're right about it not looking lower than any 2009 noses, however for the last few years the trend has obviously been high noses in an effort to get as much clean air to the floor and diffuser. The Caterham's nose is roughly in line with the top of the wheel rim, the McLaren image I'd estimate is about the wheel hub or lower.

It would hint that either 1) McLaren have found another way to claw back downforce which doesn't rely so heavily on the floor or 2) the silhouette is a red herring.

Either way, roll on the 1st :D

Looking at that image, I cant see any shape of a front wing.

Yeah I noticed the lack of any front wing end plates.

Probably just a 2 minute mock up someone in their graphics team did. I bet they are also having a chuckle at everyone speculating over it too :)
